Slits and Chapped skin.
There is no mistaking the signs of Chapped, painful Slits and cracks that are very slow to heal. Not only the lips but the whole face, the hands and sometimes even heels soles and other parts of body are affected .
This condition of deep cuts and rough leathery skin, on the palms and feet it has nothing to do with environment.
At the onset there may   be unusual dryness of the palms and soles but often there is excess moisture which my occur intermittently during the course of the disease. After a certain variable period the involved surfaces appear firm, leathery thickened, horny and moderately smooth like sole leather or surface may be seamed, fissured, uneven, or worm eaten in appearance.

Petroleum This is indicated when there are painful cracks in the heels, fingers palms  there is sever itching and burning the cracks bleed easily and are worsen in winter Petroleum 30, 5 pills Tds.
Graphite it is indicated when the skin is hard and very rough to the touch looks unhealthy and dirty with a glutinous honey like fluid oozing out. The skin around the toes nails fingertips is more prone to Crack. The nails becomes blackish because of regular cracks on the tips of the toes and fingers. Graphites 30, 5 pills Tds.
Calendula Q added to Petroleum jelly in the proportion of 10 parts of jelly to 1part of Calendula is the best ointment. Apply this twice daily.
