Bach flower Remedies.

The system of flower remedies founded by Dr. Edward Bach of London, fulfils this requirement of the Organon. But there is one important difference. In this system remedies are prescribed on mental symptoms only.
The patient should be able to prescribe such remedies for himself without elaborate medical knowledge, just as he takes water when thirsty and food when hungry.
In this system there are only 39 remedies. Which are very easy to select and present no potency problem.
Homoeopath know very Well the value of mind symptoms one strong mental symptom can overrule many physical ones in the system of healing by flower remedies discovered by Dr. Bach the medicine is selected for the man, the individual that is his feelings only are considered.. Therefore whatever be the physical suffering, flower remedies are not prescribed for that, but only the mind of the patient is considered for selecting the remedy. If this is not understood the newcomer will be apt to wrongly conclude that these are for mental cases only, particularly when he reads the Materia medica and it's repertory.
A case of a person of 35 complained that he had the delusion that a rope was thrown around his neck and he was being pulled with the other end. This unwanted thought occurred to him several times daily. Naturally every time it occurred he was filled with fear. Now the two things in this case are (1) fear of known things (pulled by a rope) and (2)this unwanted thought circled round and round interfering with his normal activities.
For fear of unknown things there is only one remedy viz. Mimulus, for circling of the same disagreeable thought the remedy is White Chestnut.
The two remedies were mixed and given in two drachm pills to be taken thrice daily. The patient was seen after three months and on inquiry he said that after one month's course the thought occurred only once or twice a month and also he was no longer filled with fear.. After yelling this he removed his shirt and showing his body said Doctor I was having ringworm all over my chest and back for the last fifteen yrs but after your bottle it has disappeared. Did you give me medicine for ring worm also?
From the above case it will be clear that medicine is prescribed on basis of symptoms of mind only. The reader must not think this signifies mental derangement it refers only to the mood and disposition.
There are two remedies for fear one is known fear Mimulus and the other is Aspen for unknown and vague fears. Fears of darkness thieves, animals etc all can be removed by Mimulus. The patient expresses fear of death (as in Ars, Aconite) but for sudden and extreme fear, terror, such as terror of bombing, of air raid, floods etc the remedy is Rock Rose.
