For most of us, any problem in the anal region is either piles or fissure , the self diagnosis usually depending upon which of the two words is ingrained in our vocabulary.A wrong diagnosis not only adds to the misery but makes a simple problem complx.
Piles or haemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels near the anal opening. Whereas fissure is a tear in the delicate skin of the anal opening. Depending upon the severity of the disease, piles are graded from 1 to 4 , grade 1 having just swollen vessels while grade 4 has a mass coming out of the opening.
The predominant Symptom of a fissure is intense pain while defecating. The magnitude of pain is such that one fears going into the toilet.
Piles are usually charactersied by bleeding after passing a stools. The blood is fresh and there is no pain. Sometimes one may feel a mass at the anal opening.

First let me give my experience with tubercular adenitis along with nosode ( Bacilinum 200, 1m 10 m) once in 15_21 days. I have found a remedy so effective as to surpass my patients and me. It is Belladonna 6 c potency. It has been given daily Two dosed of five pills. Large threatening or hard glands, along with fever etc. are cured. I think Belladonna is truly anti tubercular remedy.
About 35 years ago, I had a unique experience,a worker doing mechanical jobs came to me with his wife who had T B lungs. She was a mother of perhaps 4 children. She was very pale, fair, lean sweating all the time, menses excessive and frequent.she had occasional bout of haemoptysis. The condition was rather terrible and I did not know what would happen. I gave Calc carb 30, Fer met 30 and Armica 30 one dram each and asked him to try them in a particular way ( i.e Arnica for haemoptysis etc) About six weeks later, some boy came in my absence my compounder for refill of the bottles, which were given. After about 2_3 year's, i met the gentleman, who introduced himself, reminded me of the cases and told me she was completely cured within about six months. He had been giving daily Calc carb morning, Fer met midday and Arnica at night. The most surprising news was this, he had offered the same treatment to a number of patients of T B. and they all had improved greatly and one or two cured completely ( as far as he could say) . Now I understood Whyte so many people were asking for these three bottles.
I learnt in the case of one had case of T B mesenteric ( abdomen) that we should never give up but fight till we win. Of course the credit for the cure goes to the parents of the girl. The father after handing over the case told me he trusted to do my best, but would not blame me if anything happened.
The lady was getting high temperature, diarrhoea etc. The trouble had started after a bad chickenpox. I started with Merc sol 1 m and soon came to know that China 6 c and Belladonna 30 worked well. These two main remedies given daily, with occasional doses of Calc carb 1 m , Tubreculinum bovinum 1 m and Merc sol and Sulphur1 m and finally Psorinum 1 m cured her. She is quite healthy and have 2 more pregnancies and normal deliveries.
I shall mention only two more medicines that have worked satisfactory, one is Stannum met 6x and 30 . It is a great tonic remedy. The other is our wonderful Pulsatilla. It may not cure, but is a great solve to cough etc. of bad cases.
After discovering the beautiful article on Drosera in the Drug pictures , of Dr. Margaret Tyler, I have been able to help and cure a number of cases both primary complex and genuine pulmonary T B. This remedy in,1 m potency with nosode a similar Potency, at intervals 1 month or more, has helped to reduce the times take for the regular antibiotic treatment and also when any relapse occurs.

Boenninghausen has given the following expand in connection with a chapter on High potencies, which he was trying. The whole chapter in his Lesser writing is worth its weight in gold.
Potenising increases the Range of action of a drug.Inert substances become polychrests. High potencies increase the range curative action. When two remedies are fairly similar to a disease picture, both will act as similinum even if each dose not cover everything.
This is the fundamental truth that should be fully made use of by us when treating epidemics or in prophylactic application. This experience also gives us courage and confidence in their prescription, where the doubts of Similinum and Similar go on nagging even after prescribing. The given remedy will cure even if not 100% correct, provided it is not a very low Potency.
The higher Potencies seem to offer a means of Makin the medicine more assimillable, and therefore, Homoeopathically more effective.
On the numerous facts bearing on this subject the following from our existing may serve as an example.
A years ago there appeared in the neighborhood a disease among cattel, which distinguished itself by a sudden but complete paralysis of all the limbs. Of nine or ten cows seized with this distemper, so far as is known, only two were kept alive, but, also these are this day stiff in all their limbs and hardly walk. Two weeks ago a cow on another farm was also seized by it, and all attempts to get her on her legs again were in vain. A messanger was at once dispatched to us for aid. He could give no additional Symptoms and took with him Two powders namely, powder one , Pulsatilla 200 and Two, Nux vom 200 with the direction to give the second only after twelve hours ( as always dissolved in water) in case that number one should up to that time not shown any effect. The messanger who returned the same night arrived in the morning at 4.30 am and about 5 o'clock. The cow which still lay in same condition, received Powder no one, according to our prescription. About ten o'clock in the forenoon, thus five hours later, the maid servant found the cow, much to her astonishment, standing up in her stable eating her fodder with good appetite. When the cow was led out there was not the slightest sign of lameness or stiffness, and the cure was completed, and still remains so. So Pulsatilla had been the right remedy. A few days later the same disease seized a cow of a neighboring farmer. Since the rapid cure of our cow had caused a great deal of a stir in the neighborhood, the man asking for the other Powder number two, Nux vom, and the cow received the same, and this cow was also cured, though not so quickly as ours, but also within twelve hours. and it has since then remained in good health. Since the disease was altogether the same in both cases, there had not been a single case of spontaneous healing, and since both of these remedies, though so different from Rachel other, nevertheless bad the same strikingly favourable result, the conclusion is very clear that only on account of the high dynamazition the curative power of each of them had reached such an extension that both of them were Homoeopathically suitable, and could equally though not in the same short time. But still in a short period, produce a completely and lasting cure, . Another really fitting solution of this question, which is by no means, however, isolated, might be difficult to find.

In a very interesting book called Definite Medication by Dr. Eli G . Jones ( Homoeopathic and Eclectic) there is this story. A rich, grand old lady, asked doctors to examine a child suffering from fever, cold, bronchitis etc, . Each one gave a different reply, when asked. Doctor what is the complaint and what will u treat the child for ? She sent them out. One old Dr. said why, of course measles. And he was allowed to treat.
Now theoretically one difference between other schools of medicine and Homoeopathy is diagnosis of trouble needing treatment.
The official Slogan for a Homoeopath is Treat the patient, Not the disease. The exact implication of this is do not treat individual Symptoms, and do not treat disease by name, but take the total case into consideration before prescribing. We do need to know we are treating and the selection of treatment will depend upon our ability to know what we are treating.
Now a days, we see a tremendous amount of Symptom poaching in the Dominant school practice. The amount of Aspirin, Analgin and Paracetamol used in almost every case of temperature palliative or suppressive prescriptions in almost all types of acute or Chronic cases, shows that it is not the Homoeopaths who treat sump( and not the diseases) but the dominant school. The higher the rating of the specialists, the longer is the list of tablets the patient is asked to swallow daily.
Every Homoeopath prescribes by Symptoms, but because, he thinks of the patient as a whole all the time., The treatment is never Symptomatic, it's total, mind, body and environment included, even in ordinary acute cases, and he must know what he is treating.

Why does a child cry  just before and during a cough.?
Perhaps the cough is extremely painful and the child is afarid. Well, I read this interesting Symptom in Arnica but did not have any use for this for nearly two years. Then I had a case of a child with any extremely severe whooping cough. Apart from the usual Symptoms, the mother said that she knew when a cough was coming, because the child would cry then. This was a good chanced to see if Armica had any influence on whooping cough. Arnica 200 doses at intervals of 3 hours and then placebo cured the case in two days. This was one of myself best cures of whooping cough. Even Drosera had not done such efficient work, even when it was indicted. Since then by actually watching for this Symptoms I have been lucky to find it in several cases of cough and whooping cough and never has Arnica let me down.

A parent's of young girl of 15 years consulted me, she was very nice, obed, wise for her age, good in studies etc. Her big problem was huge septic tonsils. I found that she had been given almost all the important Homoeopathic remedies, indicated various ways, for nearly two years with no improvement in the tonsil trouble.
One evening, because could swallow solids without Pain, while Empty swallowing was painful, I gave one dose Ignatia 10 m . At ab9 pm she got fits of cough all from throat, and in two hours, pieces of tonsillar tissue were coughed out.She suffered for about 2 hours. Then slept.
Next morning I found the tonsil gone..Her tonsils throat are were normal.
A young boy, son of rich parents, mother Homoeopath dr. Used to have prolapse ani for about 3 years. The mother a v good prescriber of Homoeopathy, had consulted and tried a number of top Homoeopaths, as well full trial of Allopathic drs.
The only thing that struck me was that the stool was always normal, especially when the trouble was more. No dysentery. Two doses of Ignatia 1 m gap of one hour cured the not outright And I am life long friend of the family till the date.

I have often wondered at the one sided treatment meted out to poor Ignatia by Dr. Kent in this Materia medica. After going through all the hysterosalpingography full of surprises etc.there is every likelihood of any one thinking that it is only good for such cases. The long list of unexpected and contrary Symptoms is not met with everyday practice. So, Ignatia gets relegated to sychosomatic type of troubles only.
What a bad loss it will be for us if we do not know this powerful anti septicaemia remedy. For this we must read articles by Dr. Knerr.
The first lesson on the tremendous power of Ignatia was taught to me by my Dr. Prof. K P  Mazumdar who said he found only three remedies capable of curing Bubonic plaque , Lachesis, Anthracinum and Igna. In facts this was his first choice in case of doubt. He always prescribed above 1 m potency for this disease ,in repeated doses. Dr. Edmond Carleton the famous Surgeon Homoeopath mentions peculiar experiences of one of his cured patients. This patient who had been from appendicitis pain. Found that the remedy used was Ignatia 200 and produced a bottle for any emergency. He became an ardent advocate of it and offered it as a cure for serious cases of appendicitis. I have saved a family from a very serious problem. The lady aged about 37 very well built and healthy, pregnant about 7 months, was suffering from appendicitis. Doctors both Physicians and surgeons were equally divided on operation, at that stage of pregnancy, some saying it was dangerous to delay it. Everyone was loving grandmother, elders asked her advice on financial and other matters, the younger set wondered at her practical wisdom, the tiny tots would not sleep without getting a bedtime story from her.. Everyone referred to her. She was the sole watchman in the home when every member was out of the home during the day.
What exactly was her value ?
Suddenly, she feeling she was a burden. No one bothered about her. So, she quitely went to old age home to spend the rest of her life there. Now there's no one from home to look after the home during the day. They cannot have six keys for six members of the family. It wasn't the a realized thanks the mere presence of the old lady was the most valuable thing, nothing elsewhere mattered so much.
In our vast Materia Medica, we usually give some value to a Symptom. Lot of time and argument are used up tring to find out if it should awarded two Mark's or five ! It is not merely academic? The fact that the patient's peculiar Symptom is present in the medicine is all that is important.
We should not forget that in out literature, when we say The Text ( as Mentioned uses the word often in his Lectures on Materia Medica) we mean only Guiding Symptoms of Hering and that book started being printed in 1879 , after collecting hundreds of nuts of information and confirmation of Symptoms from all the practitioners till then, and Hering gave his valuation to each Symptom, basing only on its Verification. The Symptoms found in his vast Materia Medica in Ordinary Type are also of profound value and reliable Guiding Symptoms.
And as Kent's Reportory was mainly based on this Materia Medica, even remedies found in Ordinary Type should not be sent to Old age home.
The valuation of a Symptom ( a mere personal observation) can only go higher with each experiment or verification.

Snoring

Snoring is one of the most common and distressing complaints in most households. In snores, the tounge or the tissue on the throat partially obstructs the smooth passage of air through the windpipe, resulting in the sound made with each breath. It usually occurs in alcoholic or overweight people or in cases where there's some abnormalities in the nose. So treating the cause is most important.
Some precautions
Avoid taking alcohol specially before sleeping. Also quit smoking.

Chikungunya

Onset

Course of disease

Syphilis

Syphilis is an infectious disease caused by the spirochete Treponema pallidum which is aqired either sexually or through blood transfusion ( aquired syphilis) or in utero an infected mother ((congenital syphilis)
Aquired syphilis is classified as early and late syphilis early syphilis includes as primary, secondary and early laten ((arbitrarily defined as more than one year post infectious)
Syphilis and late syphilis includes late latent (defined as more than one year post infections) and tertiary syphilis.
The spiral bacterium.T. Palladium penetrates skin or intact mucous membranes easily through direct contact and disseminates rapidly via the blood and lymph circulation.These bacteria cause vascular changes like those seen in endarteritis and periarteritis. The intial lesion of primary syphilis develops at the site of the transmission after an incubation period of about 10 days to 3 months, and then heals spontaneously within 3 to 8 weeks. Even before the appearance of the lesion, the organsims have disseminated all over the body.
Secondary syphilis may seperimose on a primary lesion or may occur 4_10 weeks after its appearance and this stage has a wide range of presentation, predominantly affecting the skin, mucous membranes and lymph nodes. Symptomaric secondary syphilis usually resolves even without treatment and the disease then enters a laten stage which may be divided into early and late latent syphilis.
Early latent encompasses the first 1_2 years of the disease and is marked by occasional relapse of active secondary lesions. During late latent syphilis the patient remains asymptomatic and generally noninfectious.
About one third of untreated patients will develop tertiary syphilis, which may develop after yeras to decades and manifests as gummatous cardiovascular or neurosyphilis. Tertiary result in approximately 20 percent of untreated patients
Males have higher incidence than females and the condition is especially common during the years of peak sexual activity.

A careful clinic history with the duration and detailed description of all symptoms and lesions should be looked into, in suspected cases. A complete history including information about the use of condoms and the number and symptomatology of all parents should also be looked into.

I have personally very little experience as far as treatment of syphilis is concerned, since with the introduction of sex education, media publicity and use of condoms, the incidence of syphilis has drastically reduced in the last one decade. It is very important that we do not mix up treatment of a disease with syphilitic miasm with the treatment of actual syphilis.

LIPOMA

These benign tumors are slowly growing, well defined soft rounded, labulated and mobile modules composed of mature fat cells, arising from the adipose tissue in the subcutaneous layer of the skin.

Histopathology
The lesion consists of lobulated of normal fat cells held together by strands of connective tissue, which are enclosed within a capsule of connective tissue. Occasionally, eccrine sweat glands may be associated and then they are called as adenolipomas.
Clinical features
Lipomas are soft, lobulated subconscious modules varying in size and number. These grow very slowly and are generally not adherent to the overlying epidemis and can thus be moved freely on the underlying structures on palpitation. They are usually asymptomatic, but can become painful in cases of them causing pressure over the nerves.
These tend to occur anywhere on the body, but are usually seen on the neck, limbs back and shoulders.

Differential diagnosis

As far as lipoma is concerned my results have not been too satisfactory in my practice. Multiple limopas all over the body should never be accepted for Homoeopathic treatment, as you cannot resolve all the lipomas. Also don't give a false guarantee that after Homoeopathic treatment, one may not develop new lipomas.

Headaches and Homoeopathic treatment

Pain in the head area due to a variety of intracranial disorders or due to psychogenic causes is termed as a headache. There are twelve categories of headache including tension headaches, migraine headaches, cluster headaches, sinus headaches and headaches due to raised intranial pressure.
About 70/80 percent of all headaches are classified as muscle contractions or more commonly tension headaches which are not always caused by emotional tension but can also be caused by muscle strain, poor posture and from too much of eye strain. The pain is usually constant and generlized but often radiates forward from the occipital region and is described as a dull, tight or band like sensation around the head. They rarely cause serious long term problems unlike migraine and cluster headaches.
Migraine and cluster headaches are called vascular headaches. In this type of headache there is initially an intense spasm or constriction of the blood vessels in the brain that reduce the blood flow to the brain resulting in the migraine aura nausea dizziness and altered vision which precedes the attacks of migraine. This is then followed by vasodilation of the same arteries resulting in an excessive blood flow to the head, causing the throbbing headache. Seventy of the migraine sufferers are females. Cluster headaches are short lived, lasting less than an hour, unlike migraines. They occur in predictable clusters, three to eight week Periods during they may strike several times a day.
Many food items can trigger off migraines it is known that chocolate or the food additive monosodium glutamate (MSG) stimulates an attack. Anorexia

Prostate benign enlargement

This is seen commonly in men over the age of fifty years of age. The prostate gland produced a fluid that keeps the sperm healthy and mobile. It is placed just below the bladder and is the size of a chestnut, with the urethra ( the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the tip of the penis) passing directly through the middle of it. Swelling of the prostate gland may lead to just some discomfort and is completely harmless, but occasionally it can cause progressive obstruction to the urinary flow if swelling is pressing down on the urethra. No one knows the real cause for the enlargement of this gland, though hormonal change is believed to be contributory.

PSA is a glycoprotein produced by the cells of normal prostate gland. Although PSA is mostly found in semen, a small amount is also found in the blood. Most men have levels under 4 nanograms per miliiter of blood
The level of PSA above 4 ng/ mL is suggestive of prostate cancer but as the same time it is worth mentioning that prostate cancer was detected on biopsy in about 15 percent of men with a PSA below 4 ng/ mL. If the level is in the borderline range between 4 and 10 there is 25 percent chance of having prostate cancer while if it is more than 10 the chances are over50 percent which increases as PSA level increases.
Percent free PSA
PSA occurs in 2 major forms in the blood, one is attached to blood proteins while other circulates free. The percent free PSA test shows how much PSA circulates free compared to total PSA level. The percentage of free PSA is lower in men who have prostate cancer than in men who don't.
In patients with prostate cancer, less than 20 percent of the total PSA is in free from, while with BPH over 20 percent of the total PSA is free and not bound to alpha 1 antichymo tripsin.

PSA density.

Epilepsy

Epilepsy means a tendency to have seizers and a symptom of brain disease where there are periodical changes in the neurological function, which is often accompanied by alterations in consciousness due to excessive, abnormal, electrical impulses from the nerve cells within the brain.The epileptic seizures are divided into generalized seizures or partial seizures.In generalized seizures ( grand mal) the patient gets an aura that is followed by loud crying, biting of his own tounge, increased salivation or deveops froth at mouth, there may be violent jerking of limbs he , he may urinate or defecate and there can be resultant sudden loss of consciousness with total loss of memory for the attack.
