High cholesterol

High Cholesterol.
The main reason for high cholesterol in the blood is intake of excess calories. The primary way to reduce cholesterol to have a non refined, high fiber low glycemic index food. The secondary way to reduce cholesterol is by drugs. some common food items that can help.
Oats is a good breakfast food which is also healthy it is rich in dietray soluble fibre that helps prenveting absorption of cholesterol from the intenstines beta glucan is the soluble fiber present in Oats
Beans are also fiber rich and contain high amount of soluble fibre. eating acup of beans can lower cholesterol by asmuch as10 per cent in six weeks. any kind of beans can be consumed such as kidney, black white. etc.
Fish. like mackrel herring tuna and salmon are rich in omega3 fatty acids which ourbody does not synthesise and so we have to be taken from an external source. omega3 fatty acids lower the triglyceride's level and increases good cholesterol[HDL).eating fish at least twice a week will redu4cholesterol.
Nuts around30 gms daily are high in calories but taken in moderation they give immense health benefits.
Fruits. are rich in fibers like avocado are rich in mono unsaturated fatty acids like omega3 .
Cardamom. Regular consumption one gram daily treats high cholesterol levels and reduces high blood pressure thus loweing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
The main problem starts when cholesterol is present in the blood more than required quantity. the total cholesterol level in the blood should be less than200 mg/dl. if the cholesterol is in excess amount then it may get deposited in the blood vessels of the heart and brain and cause obstruction to blood flow to these regions which may leads to heart attack or stroke.
