External homoeopathic medicines

External Homoeopathic Medicines.
These are marked with M.T. after them e.g.(Aconite. M.T.) to distinguish them from internal mother tinctures whichever are marked with e.g.(Aconite Q.) The external medicines are used locally, to aid the action of internal medicines. Usually the medicine which is used externally is also administereted internally thus for injuries Arnica M.T.is used externally and at the same time Arnica3x  and higher is given internally. The external remedies are used in the following ways. on wounds cuts bruises etc. when the skin abraded or injured the pure tincture shouldn't be used but lotions prepared by adding one part of medicine to9 parts of boiled water should be used for washing or in compresses(i.e.lint or cloth moistened with the lotion) for ulcers and old wounds ointments prepared by mixing the medicine with white petroleum jelly may be applied.
Aconite M.T.is used in cases of local inflammation arising from supperssed perspiration.
Apis M.T.is for stings of bees wasps.
Belladonna M.T sore throat hoarseness loss of voice hard dry cough. Rub externally throat and neck with the tincture pure or mixed with glycerine or olive oil. also rub on enlerged glands mumps and painful abdomen.

Bellis M.T.used undiluted for paiting on moles twice a day

Bryonia M.T.for stiff neck rheumatism lumbago pain in joints rub the tincture pure or mixed with gylecerine oil. or olive oil.
Calendula M.T.deep cuts ulcerated wounds boils and open sores 1part of calendula with9 parts of water.
Cantheries and Causticun useful in cases burns and sclads compresses of1part with9 parts of boiled water.
Hammamelis M.T.tobe used for in bleeding wounds on any part of the body.
Hydrastis cancerous sores and sloughing and gangrenous wounds and pox and injections in leucorrhoea and gonorrhea5 to 10 drops in an ounce of boiled water.
Hypericum M.T.This red tincture is v ancient and popular remedy for wounds arising from punctures cuts bruises and lacrerations causing violent pain.
Iodum M.T swelling of throat chest heart liver testicles legs apply the pure tincture on the swoolen or painful parts once in every three days.
Ledum M.T.joints swollen and stiff on account of rheumatism and gout should be gently rubbed with the tincture mixed with glycerine or olive oil. bites of cats dogs or stings of insects poisonous wounds such as by fish bones oyster shells pure tincture maybe be applied.
Phytolacca M.T.diluted with olive oil or pure to be rubbed enlarged glands parotidsub maxillary tonsils breast.
Rhux tox M.T.rheumatic pain in joints or the small of back in sprains or strains of the wrists muscles and tendons mixed with glycerin or oil.
Ruta. M.T.sorness of thighs by walking and riding injuries to periosteum and to the nails as well as for ingrown nails bed sores10 droos in ounce of water sprains and dislocation of wrists and ankle joints pure or mix with oil may be rubbed
Astyrax balsam itchand destroyes the itch insects(scabies) it should be rubbed into the boils and not to the whole skin after about10hrs wash with soap and warm water apply3 or4 days. as this blasam is inflammable it should not be brought near fire.
Symphytum M T.in fractures of bones and injury to the periosteum. fractures must be previously set and put in splints. if suppuration has taken place symphytum is no more applicable.
Thuja M.T.
For warts especially soft and ingrowing toe nails rub pure or mixed with olive oil.
For eczema Hydrastis Skookum chuck Hamammalis calendula and Echinnacea in the form of create are recommended for application. for scorpion bites apply ledum M.T.extarnally.Liquor ammonium is also an effectative external application
Dressing wounds with Calendula lotion will prevent scars gangrenes or even tetanus.
