Hahnemann tells us that we have specific. He specifics those places where the drug pictures of the remedies coincided with disease pictures. Hahnemann tells us, some remedies so exactly reproduce a disease condition, so as to become specific
Such are Cantharis in cystitis, Belladonna' in Scarlet fever, Merc cor in dysentery, and Latrodectus Mac in angina pectoris.
The wonderful remedy Like Arnica comes by hoary tradition from domestic practice. In the scheme of Almighty, whenever healing is needed, there it is to be found whether in plant or venom always at hand. Hahnemann says of Arnica to be most useful in injuries including sever wounds by bullets, and blunt weapons, as also in ailments consequent on extracting teeth, surgical operations dislocations of joints, during or after setting fracture of bones etc. It also has its influence on cardic symptoms, some forms of typhids or pleurisy.
Arnica has its jurisdiction on cerebral haemorrhages .it has a part to play in Asthma from fatty degeneration of heart. Offensive mouth breath and offensive flatus are controllable by Arnica. It has its say in dysentery. Complaints from exertion are attended by it. Small boils, painful,one after the other are taken care of by this remedy. Arnica repairs the walls of capillaries and vessels. Soreness or bruised feeling is the result of the injury which is considered in Homoeopathy as symptom.
But Arnica rarely needs any symptom for its adminstration. A person with bullet injury or with concussion dose not require us to ask or see any symptom. And this is what is required by a medicine tobe specific.
There are hundred of such diseases and situations where we administer the remedy without looking to the details. We can decide in the twinkling of an eye in the words of Dr. Kent. It is the experiences of pioneers, which guide us for specifics and never the complicated process of selection on the basis of symptoms.
