Experience some Potencies.
In some cases a particular medicine is found and known to be more useful in a particular Potency than in any other Potency. Such Potencies have been regarded as specific by clinical experiences.To illustrated Sabal serrulata for prostatitic enlargement in 200 C Potency has worked better than Q or any other Potency. Similarly, Stellaria media in 2 x works excellently..
Some Nosodes act better in high potency I.e.200 and some in 30 c potency and above 200 Medorrhinum and Sphyilinum works better in 200 and higher Potencies only.
Bowel Nosodes As a general rule use the high potency when the mentals are prominent for gross pathology and marked pathological symptoms employ the lower Potencies.
With outstanding mentals the Nosodes in 1 m Potency or higher maybe preferred but if there is evidence of advanced pathological conditions such as advanced rheumatoid arthritis or malignancy, the 6 th decimal may be employed.
Homoeopathy has also taken up vaccine therapy and dr. J.G. Hare of London Homoeopathic hospital has introduced the use 3x and 30 x Potencies of the vaccines.i.e Staphylococcin, Staphylococcus, Streptococcin, Bacillus Acnes, Bacillus coli, Bacillus influenza, Bacillus typhus Gonococcus etc.
Glandular medicines such as Brain, Corpus lut, Mammary, Ovarian parotid, Pancreatin, Parathyroid, Pineal, Pituitary, Placenta, Prostate, Superarental, Secretin, Spleen, Thymus and Throid are used in low Potency 3x or 6x .
The curative power of certain medicines is even available in low Potencies and as such drs like Boericke and Clarke have recommended their use in low Potencies, such medicines are Abies can ( 1st to 3rd) Absinthium 1st to 6 th Ars iod 2,to3x etc.
Experience tells us the following medicines are very useful in 30 the Potencies.
Aconite, Ant crud Ant tart, Aurum met, Baptisia, Belladonna, Coculus, Corallium Dulcamara Eupt perf Ferrum met Gels etc.
Where physician is not in a position to make distinction in between the two medicines and he is in a great confusion owing to the similarity of symptoms he may select either of two medicines which has the majority of the characteristic symptoms and give the same in lower attenuation 6 to 12 . Although correct prescription brings reputation to Homoeopath but to err is human. That is why it has rightly been remarked that a Homoeopath may fail but never does the Homoeopathy.
General principles
All those cases which could not be covered earlier are described below for the guidance of the practitioners.
High Potencies are advised in following cases.
The more the symptoms are functional rather than organic.
The more dynamic and or deep acting the nature of the drug.
To antidotes the ill effects of low Potencies and crude drugs ( remembering the hazard in the use of high Potencies in organic destructive disorders)
To rouse reaction in refractory cases.
The higher and highest dilutions are more useful in
All diseases of nervous system generally
In all sensitive persons of both sexes particularly those who have never taken any medicine of any kind.
Diseases of skin.
Low Potencies are advise
In dynamic or low conditions of the vital force.
For palliative purpose with partial indications
In acute disease low Potencies . When dealing with vegetable substance low Potencies, lesions disorders low Potencies, if you administere a medicine for one Symptom alone, the low Potency for functional disorders medium Potencies.
Some medicines have their own donts particularly in high Potencies. For example Silicea and Sulphur high are dangerous drugs to be given when there's a structural disease in organs that are vital.Phosphours in high potency be avoided in phthisis in a chronic case Lycopodium high at the start is advisable.Belladona in high potency if frequently repeated may prove fatal.High Potency of Kali carb in gout, Psorinum in asthma are prohibited.Silicea high must not be administered to cases who have been grafted with foreign/ artificial matter
When high potency has been administerd in an incurable case or one with marked pathological changes and it has resulted in aggarvations which the vital energy can not cope with or the aggregation is very painful, the patient is going near to the end of life, the physician must antidotes.
When lamp of life is burning very low the exhibition of Homoeopathic medicine high or low is probably like a gust of wind.
In domestic practice the lower attenuations may be used with much greater safety than the higher.
