Keloid scar

Keloids can be considered to be scars that don't know when to stop. Keloid,  sometimes referred to as a keloid scar, is a tough heaped up scar that rises quite abruptly above the rest of the skin. It usually has a smooth top and a pink or purple colour. Keloids are irregularly shaped and tend to enlarge progressively. Unlike scars.
Drs do not understand exactly why keloids form. Alternations in the cellular signals that control proliferation and inflammation may be related to the process of keloid formation, but these changes have not yet been characterised sufficiently to explain this defect in wound healing.
Individuals with darkly pigmented skin are more likely to develop keloids with those of African, Hispanic and Asian ethnicity are greatest risk.
Keloids are equally common in women and men. Keloids are less common in children and elderly. Though people with darker skin are more likely to develop them, keloids can occur in people of all skin types. In some cases, the tendency to form keloids seems to run in families.
Keloids develop most often on the chest, shoulders and earlobes. They seldom develop on the face.
A keloid has a characteristic microscopic appearance and may be distinguished from a hypertrophic scar and a dermatofibroma.
Keloids are raised over growth of scar tissue that occur at the site of a skin injury. They occur where trauma, surgery, blisters, vaccination,  acne,  or body piercing have injured the skin. Less commonly keloids may form in places where the skin has not had a visible injury. Keloids differ from normal mature scars in composition and size. Some people are prone to keloid formation and may develop them in several places.
When keloid is associated with a skin incision or injury after the original wound has closed, becoming larger and more visible until it reaches a final size. They generally occur between 10 and 35 years of age and affects both sexes.
Symptoms
Keloids usually appear in areas of previous trauma but may extend beyond the injured area. They are shiny, smooth and rounded skin elevations that may be pink, purple, or brown. They can be doughy or firm and rubbery to the touch and they often feel itchy, tender, or uncomfortable. They may be unsightly. A large keloid in the skin over a joint may interfere with joint function.
Diagnosis
A dr. diagnoses a keloid on the basis of its appearance and a history of tissue injury, such as surgery, acne or body piercing. In rare cases, the doctor may remove a small piece of the skin to examine under a microscope. This is called biopsy.
Keloids may continue to grow slowly for weeks, months or years. They eventually stop growing but do not disappear on their own. Once a keloid develops, it is permanent unless removed or treated successfully. It is common for keloid that have been removed or treated to return.
Keloids are harmless, cosmetic problems that do not become cancerous. Once keloids stops growing, it is usually remains stable unless the area is injured again.

  1. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
