Constitutional make up part 2

Syphilitic or Oxygenoid constitution.
A typical syphilitic child shows the following manifestation, which are as a result of the Constitutional effects of the venereal miasm, syphilis.
The syphilitic child is hot and likes cold application and cold food and is worse by warmth,,
The child is dull, stupid, sluggish, idiotic, does not want to talk much or answer,  a closed mouthed individual Lack of sensitiveness, anxiety or fear surely indicates presence of this miasm,,
All symptoms are aggravated from sunset to sunrise,  better during day and by appearance of axillary or foot sweat,,
As this constitution is characterised by excess of oxygen in the tissues, the child suffers when there is increased ozone in atmosphere, before a strom or rain and by consuming animal foods which oxidise easliy,,
This miasm produce structural changes and manifests its effects through ulcers and destruction of tissues and when combined with psora it produces tubercular diathesis which shows combined symptoms of both the miasms,,
The syphilitic child,  unlike the psoric counter part, has a moist skin and perspires a great deal, perspiration does not afford relief in most symptoms,,
Dull headache comes at night and is relieved in the morning. The headache is accompanied by coldness of the body. The typical modalities of this miasm, namely, worse by warmth, rest, exertion, riding and better by cold applications,  motion and by nose bleed play upon the child's headache also. The child bores head into the pillow. The head of the syphilitic child is large and bulging with moist and gluey hair. The complexion is greasy.,,
The vertigo of this miasm starts in the base of the brain,,
The eyes, ears and nose show marked ulcerations. The ears are large and lobes of ears are pale white and transparent. Loss of smell, frequent Epistaxis, shuffles and dark greenish or black scabs and crusts in nose which when dislodged leave a raw surface are the oft found manifestation of this miasm,,,
The syphilitic children have irregular and deformed teeth. Tooth decay, gum boils, pyorrhoea and ulcers in the mouth are the common manifestation of the miasm. Every time the child cuts a tooth, he gets very sick. Often there is metallic taste in the mouth.,,
Enlarged adenoids and tonsils are usually found in this miasm,,
The syphilitic child is averse to meat,  but generally has good appetite,,,
The children afflicted with this miasm are prone to watery diarrhoea especially of the cholera infantum type and are quickly depleted of the vital fluids,,
As syphilis affects long bones, there are nightly pains in the children and have the peculiar modalities of this miasm,,
The syphilitic children have paper thin, spoon shaped nails, and
The children get pustular eruptions about joints and in flexures of body. The eruptions generally appear in crescentric formation and are coopery or brownish in colour. These eruptions, strangely enough do not itch nor produce soreness.

Pseudo psoric or Tubercular constitution.
This constitution also proves that the apparent outward manifestation of Tubercular diathesis outward manifestations of Tubercular diathesis stem from an underlying condition. Much before the Bacillus appears in the sputum, the child shows the symptoms of tuberculosis which if untreated develop into the dreadful disease. It is the prerogative of Homoeopathy to perceive a child's condition and evaluate the future complications that are sure to arise as a result of his inheritance of different Miasmatic traits and treat him in time to save him from the grave consequences thereof during adulthood. Thus the trouble can be scientifically and systematically nipped in the bud right in the childhood. Some of the salient features of this mixed miasm are as follows,,,
The child is very susceptible to cold, catches cold, with every change of weather and is better by warmth. The child gets tired soon and has a tendency to lie down,,,
The mental picture of the Tubercular child is usually that of syphilis, that is,  the child is slow of comprehension,  dull, unable to think, is unsocial and keeps to himself.
The Tubercular child has aggravation of almost all the symptoms at night. Sudden crying of the child in sleep at night indicates the mixed miasm. The patient is ameliorated by natrual sweat, profuse urination,  diarrhoea and by the breaking out of an ulcer,,,
The Tubercular child has a round face, clear complexion, sparkling eyes, red lips and narrow and shallow chest. During fever, these children have a pale face and circumscribed redness on the cheek bones. Very often the child is plump,,
Persistent headaches and marked vertigo are present in this constitution. Headache in children on Sunday or holidays when away from school and usual studies.,
Moist eruptions on scalp and eczema about and behind the ears with thick offensive pus are found to be a result of the mixed Miasms,,
The Tubercular child has thick greenish or greenish yellow discharge from the eye,  nose and ears. The ear discharge is a sure indication of this Miasmatic combination and is in fact a safety valve of the childhood. As long as the discharge continues, the child is free of an internal trouble,  but once suppressed it can lead to terribletth internal turmoil, the discharge from the nose smells of old cheese,,
There is putrid, sweet or salty taste in the mouth and the saliva is ropy with a bloody taste.,,
The tubercular child has a cannie hunger so that the child feels hungry soon after a full meal. The cravings are of a psoric origin, that after a full meal. The cravings are of a psoric origin, that is, for acids, sweets, salt and indigestible things.
The child being susceptible to cold, develops a deep hoarse cough on least exposure to cold,  The expectoration is greenish yellow and tastes sweet or salty..,,
The tubercular children cannot digest cow's milk and usually suffer from diarrhoea which is slimy bloody with a musty smell, followed by extreme prostration. The diarrhoea usually comes at night or the early morning and is worse by cold. Generally, there is an alteration of Symptoms of the rectum with those of the chest and lungs especially in case of asthma,,,
The syphilitic origin of the Constitution shows up in the form of strictures, fistulae and sinuses in the rectum,,
The tubercular children have weak wrist and ankle joints and therfore, cannot hold anything properly, and easily stumble down,,
The children have irregular and brittle nails which break and spilt easily and have white specks over them,,,
The corns, hypertrophies, hernia, urticaria, impetigo, lymphatic involvement and varicose Veins are of tubercular origin. In the children affected by this Miasmatic combination, even the slight wounds heal very slowly, and,,,
Bed wetting in children specially during sleep and soon after falling asleep has its origin in pseudo psora..

Sycotic or hyderogenoid constitution
This venereal miasm shows the constitutional effects of the suppressed gonorrhocal discharge and the hygroscopic nature of the blood resulting in water logged condition of the system. This miasm when present generally indicates the presence of other two miasms as well and then results in worst forms of degenerancy, insanity malignancies etc. The prominent manifestations of this constitution are as follows,,,
The sycotic child is chilly and likes warmth,,,
This miasm causes infiltration and over growths in the form of tumour, cysts, hard swelling etc,,
All symptoms of this constitution are aggravated during the day and before or during rain or thunderstorms, and ameliorated by elimination through the mucous surfaces such as nasal discharge. The child cannot live near the sea,  lakes, rivers or cold basements, nor can it partake aquatic plants and animals as these arouse the sycotic manifestations to a terrible degree.
The sycotic child is irritable,  suspicious, mean, selfish, jealous, quarrelsome and bent upon mischief. He is given to fits of anger and is cruel to other children and animals. The child is unable to collect his thoughts and therfore cannot express fluently and is short of suitable words to express the idea,,
The child has a pasty complexion with a red nose and moles and warts on face,,,
The sycotic headache usually appears on the vertex accompanied by feverishness, restlessness,  fretting and crying, better by motion and worse lying down at night,,
All discharges of sycotic are greenish or greenish yellow, scanty and with odour of fish brine,,,

The sycotic child is given frequently to colicky pains, gripping and tenesmus which generally precede diarrhoea and make the child bend double. The colic are better by hard pressure and from lying on abdomen, the child usually wants to be carried or rocked. The diarrhoea is acrid and corrosive and the stools are gushing, ejaculated forcibly and with noise,,
Spasmodic contraction of urethra resulting in painful urination so that the child screams before urination is sycotic in nature,,, 
The sycotic child is prone to the attacks of rheumatic fever and rheumatic pains in joints on being drenched in rain or during cold damp weather. These pains are worse during rest and better by moving or stretching,,,
The skin is thickened and eruptions occur in circumscribed spots. Over growth in the forms of moles, warts and patches are found in this miasm. The nails of the sycotic child are ribbed or thick and heavy, and,,
The sycotic children develop stuffy nose and nasal stoppage due to thickening of mucous membranes and enlargement of the bones. The discharge is usually scanty and the child is greatly relived by even the slightest discharge.

Other Miasmatic combinations

There are a number of permutations and combinations of the basic miasms discussed above which result in varying symptoms and often provide clue to the presence of more than one miasm. Thus the following manifestations are found in different Miasmatic combinations besides the pseudo psora which has been discussed earlier.
Moral insanity resulting in criminality is a combination of psora and sycosis. Such patients are sullen, smouldering,  threatening to break out into dangerous manifestations,,, 
Hay fever,  malignancy, diabetes,  insanity, psoriasis, chilblains, Erysipelas, fish scale eruptions, lupus and epithelioma indicate the presence of all the three miasms,,,
Cardiac disturbance with changes in the organic structure are a combination of either psora sycosis or syphilis sycosis and
Condylomata and pointed papillary growth reveal the presence of both syphilis and sycosis.
