Chickenpox

Chickenpox or Varicella is an acute infectious disease characterised by a rash which appears in crops and disappears in a few days by desiccation and scab formation. It is an extremely common infection affecting infants and children practically during all seasons of the year. It is uncommon in children above 10 years of age and probably significant percentage of children in the urban cities are effected.
Causes.
The exciting cause of the disease is a volatile filtrable virus which is found in a patient's blood and in the contents of the vesicles during the outbreak of the eruption. Infection in most cases is by direct droplet spray,  but articles of clothing may remain infectious for a long time and the disease is sometimes carried by a healthy intermediary. In fact,  the infection is contagious from the very first hour of the eruption, as such it is difficult to control its spread. The occasional development of chickenpox in children exposed to herpes zoster suggests that the two diseases are different manifestations of the same viral infection. The details of incubation period are as follow,,,
Incubation period (period between exposure to disease and appearance of Symptoms)
14-16 days, occasionally 3 weeks.
Period of communicability (period when child could have infected others)
One day before appearance of rash and no longer than 6 days after appearance of the first vesicle.
When child can mix with other children and return to school.
7 days after onset of rash. Crust is not infectious like in small pox.
One attack of chickenpox usually confers life long immunity, second attack being extremely rare.
Symptoms
The onset of the disease is sudden with slight fever and simultaneous appearance of eruption which is maculo popular from a pin head to a lentil size. In exceptional cases in children, vomiting and convulsions may occur. The maculae are scattered and very transparent content. The eruptions first appear on the trunk and then on the limbs and face and the distribution of the lesions is chiefly centripetal and not centrifugal as in case of small pox. The lesions tend to be more abundant on covered parts than on the exposed parts of the body. The common occurrence of the eruption is a successful crop of 4 to 5 days and each may be associated with a slight rise in temperature. The characteristic lesion is first a mucule, then a papule, then a vesicle and finally a pustle, with a subsequent scab formation. The eruptions also appear on the face, the palms and soles, mucous membranes like conjunctiva, fauces, cheeks etc. They soon burst and Ulcerate causing difficulty in eating and swallowing. Generally, there is no confluence of adjacent vesicles. However, due to the itch, the rash is often infected by scratching or rubbing and then the lesions become larger and more inflamed. The vesiculation is generally complete in 24 hours or little more. The vesicles look translucent droplets lying on the skin. The areola may or may not be present.
The severity of the infection may be judged from the numbers of pocks, which in severe cases may become confluent. The scabs are shaped in about 10 days though in severe cases these may be delayed for 2-3 weeks.
As chickenpox closely resembles small pox, the differential diagnosis of the two diseases is here below,

Chickenpox
A,  The onset is rapid and the first crop of maculae appears on first day.
Small pox
A The crop may appear on the second day, deep maculae and papulae appear on the third day.
B  Vesicles are oval, superficial and generally appear on third day.
B  Vesicles are round and appears on sixth day.
C Pustulation and scab formation takes place on the 4-5 day respectively.
C  Pustulation occurs on the 9th day and scab formation followed by scar formation may take place after 15th day.
D  Onset is mild and is attended with slight rise in temperature.
D  The onset is like influenza with fever, headache, vomiting and backache.
E  The vesicles appear all over the body, most frequently on the hairy part of the head and face. The vesicles are not putted.
E  The eruptions breaks out first on the face, mainly on the forehead, the hairy part of the head and simultaneously on the back and nose, and these appear on the trunk and more densely on face, and on the third day on the limbs. The vesicles appear against a pinkish background and are pitted.
F  There is polymorphism of the eruption which is centripetal in nature.
F  There is no polymorphism of the eruption which is centrifugal nature.
Types.
In addition to the ordinary form of chicken pox three types of chicken pox, namely
Bullous, in which large blebs containing turbid fluid and about 25 mm in diameter appear.
Gangrenous,  in which large dark crusts form revealing rapid and deep ulcers and
Haemorrhagic,  in which haemorrhage is found around the base of the pock and external haemorrhage from the nose and mouth. The second and third varieties of chicken pox are often fatal.
Constitutional causes
In the homoeopathic parlance it is the susceptibility of an individual child to a particular infection that is important, so to say, the soil must be receptive to the infection. The Miasmatic background and the Constitution of the child are basic considerations which differ in approach from that of the modern medicine.
Generally, those children who are psoric or of tubercular constitution are prone to the eruptive fevers. While the Constitutional make up of children has been dealt with elsewhere, it is evident from the overall picture of the eruptive fevers that these arise from a definite Miasmatic flow. Hence, till a child is studied in regard to the different constitutional traits and treated, it will continue to be susceptible and be vulnerable to such fevers.
Effects
Some of the effects of the chicken pox are laryngitis or slight bronchitis, pox on conjunctiva, acute nephritis, arthritis etc, though the complications are generally rare in children.
Homoeopathic therapeutics.
Aconite
This remedy is required in the initial febrile stage,  when the skin is hot and child is restless, anxious and thirsty. High fever with rapid hard and full pulse. The hands are hot and feet cold.
Ant crud
Fever with nausea, vomiting and a thickly coated white tongue. The child is extremely irriatable and fretful and cannot bear to be touched or looked at. This remedy is also useful in case of cough and bronchitis remaining after the chicken pox. When eruptions attack the fauces, the palate and the corner of mouth, this remedy will be helpful.
Ant tart
This is one of the chief remedies for chickenpox when the fever is attended with convulsions or the eruptions are delayed or receding and are blue in colour. The child is drowsy, weak and sweaty and has a coated, pasty and thick white tongue. The face is pale and covered with cold sweat. One of the important symptoms of this remedy is that there is incessant quivering of chin lower jaw. This remedy is especially indicated when the chickenpox is associated with bronchitis and other chest troubles,. The child has thirst for cold water, little and often and desire for apples, fruits and acids.
Apis Mel
This remedy is indicated when there is an excessive itching of the skin or puffy swelling of the eyelids which is aggravated by slightest heat or warmth. There is thorstlessness along with scanty high colored urine.
Belladonna
This remedy is indicated when the febrile conditions are accompanied by severe headache and cerebral symptoms. The child has flushed face,  red eyes and hot skin usually without any thirst. There is great drowsiness with inability to sleep. This remedy is also useful in the initial febrile stage of the chickenpox.
Merc sol.
This remedy is indicated when the vesicles suppurate  or the disease taken a turn towards Gangrenous type. There is great itching especially from warmth of bed. This remedy is also indicated when the disease is complicated by bloody and slimy stools when the painful ulcers form in the mouth is fetid odour from the mouth. The tongue is thick, moist, yellow and shows the imprints of teeth.
Gelsemium
This remedy should be thought of when the onset of the fever is slight and the child is very weak. The child is dull,  delirious and dizzy with pain in the occipital region. Complete thirstlessness is one of the important symptoms of this remedy.
Rhux tox
This is of the chief remedies for chickenpox when there is intense itch and burning. This remedy if given in the ist stage often arrests the progress, shortens the period of suffering and effects perfect cure. Unless any other medicine is strongly indicated, this remedy may be given with advantage. Some of the important symptoms of this remedy calling for its use in chickenpox are extreme restlessness with continued change of position, great apprehension at sight so that the child cannot remain in bed, bitter taste in the mouth, coated tongue except red triangular spaces at the tip, pain and stiffness in the limbs and great inclination to stretch the limbs and yawn. This remedy is also helpful when the complications like pustular inflammation of the eyes take place.
Sulphur
This is indicated when there is intense itching and burning in the eruptions and the child has great tendency to scratch. Least washing aggravates the itching and burning. There are frequent flashes of heat of and this remedy will generally show great redness of lip and around the anus. This being a strong anti psoric will benefit a child who is either of psoric or tubercular constitution. This remedy is also useful when the carefully selected remedies fail to act.
Each individual case should be considered the totality of the symptoms and not on the symptoms of fever and eruption alone. The prescription must be such as not to suppress the signs and symptoms or the course of the disease. Various symptoms like fever, types of eruptions at different stages, concomitant symptoms like convulsions, vomiting, etc, as well as any other peculiar symptoms should be taken into account of repertorization. It is not considered necessary to give a detailed repertorial Analysis for chickenpox. However following three rubrics concerning chickenpox are given in Dr. Kent's repertory which may be found to be of some use.,
Chickenpox,,
Aconite,  ant crud,  ant t,  ars,  asaf,  bell,  canth,  carb v,  caust,  coff,  cycl,  hyos,  op,  led,  merc,  nat c,  Puls,  rhus t,  sep,  sil,  Sulph, thuj.
Cough after chickenpox Ant c.
A case treated
A 9 years old boy contracted chickenpox from a class mate in the school and developed fever and typical rash of chickenpox about 15 days after exposure. The temperature was 38 °c and the eruptions appeared all over the body the only cause of worry for the parents was that there was an intolerable itching and burning sensation in the eruptions which was aggravated during night and by slightest warmth. Close observation also revealed the swelling of the eyelids. The throat was intensely red with tonslis swollen. The child was thirstless. With a view to give minimum necessary medication based on the above symptoms,  Apis Mel 30,  five doses were given which greatly relived the child of the intense itching and burning as well as the great sensitiveness to the warmth. The disease ran its nor course and the case was dismissed with usual advice on diet, quarantine etc.

Measles

Measles or Rubeola is an acute infectious, highly communicable disease, characterised by a generalised exam them. The infants and children are highly susceptible to measles, however the higher incident is among children under 5 years of age, and the infants under 6 months of age rarely contract it. The disease can be very serious in young malnourished children and may lead to further loss of weight and result in severe forms of protein calories malnutrition. There are different types of measles, namely,  Black measles,  in which the eruptions is very dark and petechial, German measles or Rubella which has almost similar symptoms except the cold symptoms to that of the real measles, and hemorrhagic measles.
Infants born of susceptible mothers inherit no immunity. Generally, an attack of measles does not necessarily give a life long immunity, though second attacks are of great rarity. If uncomplicated and not suppressed, measles is not a dangerous malady..
Causes
The exciting cause of the disease is a virus which is active only inside the human organism. During the prodromal stage and the first days of eruption, the virus is found in the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, mouth and the conjunctiva as well as in the patient's blood. The measles virus is transferred from patient to healthy children during sneezing and coughing by means of the droplets injected and is carried by air. The virus can also penetrate the cracks in walls and cause infection. Thus the poor living conditions are conducive to the spread of the disease and increase in mortality. The details of incubation period, communicability, etc are given below,

Incubation period (period between exposure to disease and appearance of Symptoms)
     7-14 days.

Period of communicability, (period when child could have infected others)
4 days before and 5 days after appearance of rash.

When child can mix with other children and return to school.
On recovery, at least 5 days after appearances of rash.

Symptoms
The initial symptoms are profuse flow from the eyes and nose, sneezing, short, tight and depressing cough, the eyes have a peculiar watery appearances and become more of less inflamed, with photophobia. If the lower lid is pulled down,  the same would appear to be angry red. This is accompanied by slight fever for 3 to 4 days till the rash comes out about the 4th day, when fever shoots up. The fever usually goes higher each day.
The rash in form of indefinite pink spots first appears on the forehead and behind the ears from where it spreads all the trunk and limbs. In the initial stages, a fine desquamation of epithelium of the buccal mucosa at the molars  beginning often at the second lower molars as well as on the internal surface of the lips and on the gums in the form of small whitish glistening spots surrounded by redness (koplik's spots)  is found. The eruption of measles consists of numerous roundish lentil size red spots, which are a little raised above the level of the surrounding skin and generally contain a little pspule in their center. These spots have a tendency to coalesce if they app closer, to form irregular shaped plaques, while these stand isolated if they are scarce. The skin maintains its normal colour in between these spots. By the 8th day,  the entire body is covered by eruptions. Sometimes, a serious picture is observed at height of the process, that is on the 2nd or 3rd day of the eruptions, very high fever and disturbance in the general condition, puffy face, eyelids glued to each other due to discharge, rhinitis, dry and persistent cough and red swollen fauces are accompanies especially in very young children. In Malignant epidemics death may ensue due to general paralysis and weakness at the early stage. In such cases, the pulse grows weaker and weaker and cutaneous capillaries burst and cause bleeding within cutis, there is immense loss of strength and the patient sinks into a typhoid condition.
The eruptive stage is followed by desquamation stage and within 3/4 days, the fever abates and bran like scurf is gradually thrown off the skin,  leaving a dusky stain in the skin. The desquamation begins first on the face then behind the ears and on the neck, chest, arms trunk, thighs and finally legs. Sometimes, diarrhoea appears as the rash declines which is often considered to be a beneficial sign.
In a typical case, the extreme catarrhal stage especially of the patient presents unmistakable picture but milder forms may be confused with German measles or scarlatina. The comparative symptoms of measles and scarlatina are here,,,,,

Measles
(a)  Rash appear on the 4th day
Scarlatina
(a)  Rash appears on the second day with sudden onset, nausea and vomiting.
(b)  Catarrhal symptoms are invariably present, that is watery discharge from eyes and nose, conjunctivitis etc.
(b)  Catarrhal symptoms are usually absent through the symptoms of great heat of skin and hoarseness are present. The eyes are unusually bright.
(c)  Eruptions first appear in the mouth, on the forehead and behind the ears from where they spread to whole body.
(c)  Eruptions first appear on the upper part of the thorax and neck from where they spread to whole body.
(d)  The eruption is rough and elevated and of the size of lentil.
(d)  The eruption is smooth and consists of red papules standing on a erythematous background and is typical in the sweat areas.
(e)  The color of eruption is pinkish red.
(e)  The eruption is of a bright scarlet colour.
(f)  The desquamation is in the form of bran like scurf and is thrown off in a minute portions of the skin.
(f)  Desquamation is fine and powdery. Pin hole,  peeling on the trunk and limbs while glove peeling about the finger tips and toes is a marked feature.
(g)  Pulse is not rapid on the onset.
(g)  The pulse is rapid from the onset, in fact a slow pulse is against scarlatina.

Effects
The most common effects of measles in chi are,  broncho Pneumonia, bronchitis, laryngitis, otitis media, and encephalitis. Improper treatment of measles may lead to phthisis and Suppression of the eruptions by strong medicines may usually lead to severe diseases like asthma. It is now commonly believed that the above complications of measles appear only if the disease force is not thrown in the form of eruptions on the skin due either to low vitality of the patient or if the initial symptoms of coryza and fever are treated with strong medicines. No complications or sequelae arise if eruption is abundant.
Homoeopathic therapeutics.
Aconite
Useful at the commencement when the catarrhal symptoms, chilliness, restlessness, dry skin, thirst at night are present. Red conjunctiva with photo phobia, fever with quick full pulse, and dry barking cough are present. The skin is burning and itching.
Ant tart
This medicine is useful when eruptions do not appear or repelled. There is great rattling of mucus in the chest but it does not yield to coughing. Dyspnoea with bluish or purplish face and drowsiness are present.
Apis
This is also one of the important remedies in case of tardy or suppressed eruptions which effects the brain. The child has considerable difficulty in breathing with inability to remains in warm room. Stupor with stinging pains and extorting cries. The Apis child is thirst less and is worse from heat, hot room and fire and is better by cool air. There is pronounced oedema of the skin and throat with confluent eruptions. Great soreness of the chest with cough. Scanty urine along with thirstlessness forms an important symptom combination of this remedy.
Ars alb.
Tardy eruptions with great anxiety,  restlessness and pronounced prostration are some of the important symptoms of this remedy when employed in measles. It is also useful when symptoms turn towards
Typhoid. After disappearance of the eruptions. There is great itching and burning of skin. The symptoms are worse after midnight. This remedy is of great service in Malignant types or black haemorrhagic measles. Diarrhoea with offensive stools followed by great exhaustion. Ars has been found to be useful in severe epidemic of measles as well as its sequelae. The child has thirst for small quantities of water at frequent intervals.
Belladonna
Indicated in measles when throat becomes sore with difficulty of swallowing and pricking pains. High fever with cerebral excitement and dry barking or spasmodic cough towards midnight often call for this remedy. Convulsions occur at the eruptive stage. This remedy is useful in the beginning when child is restless and has throbbing headache, flushed face and red eyes.
Bryonia
When the rash is slow to appear and there is hard dry cough with tearing pain in the chest. The lips are dry, parched and there is great thirst for large quantities of water at frequent intervals. This remedy is especially indicated when the eruptions suddenly disappeared and the child feels drowsy with pale twitching face and chewing motion of jaws. The child prefers to lie down quietly as slightest motion causes stitching pains in the chest. Great lassitude and irritability, anorexia, constipation and low mild delirium are some of the important symptoms calling for this remedy.
Cup met
This remedy is indicated when convulsions ensue due to the recess of eruptions. The child starts up from sleep and has frightening convulsive with bluish face. Measles complicated with bronchitis, cold clammy sweat at night, and cramps in fingers and toes are some of the additional symptoms calling for this remedy.
Euph
This remedy is indicated when the catarrhal symptoms predominate and when conjunctiva is red and swollen with acrid tears. There is intolerance to light and profuse bland fluent coryza. The cough is dry and hoarse with throbbing headache and is relived on the appearance of the eruptions. One of the characteristics symptoms of this remedy is unusual brightness of the eyes despite catarrhal condition.
Gelsemium
In the beginning of the ailments when the child is dull, drowsy and feels tired. Fever with chilliness, watery coryza which excoriates upper lip and nose, hoarse barking croupy cough with soreness of chest are some of the symptoms of this remedy. There is great itching and redness of the skin with tendency of eruptions to turn livid.
Kali bich
When there is deep, loud cough with expectoration of stringy yellowish mucus. Intense conjunctiva, stitches in the ears, watery diarrhoea with tenesmus, sore throat, swollen salivary glands. When the measles is complicated with bronchitis and Bryonia cannot control it,  this remedy will be found to be of special use. Useful in sequelae of measles when ulceration or pustulation  of cornea is threatened.
Lachesis
Useful in black measles when all symptoms are aggravated by suddenly awaking from sound sleep. The eruption is livid, countenance almost black, tongue coated dark brown and dry, it catches on the lower teeth and cannot be protruded coryza severe, lips and inside cheek wall sore and swollen, also useful in dipthteric symptoms.
Merc sol
Measles accompanied by swollen glands of throat and difficulty in swallowing. Indicated when gastrointestinal symptoms dominate and there is diarrhoea of slimy stool with tenesmus.
Pulsatilla
Indicated at a later stage of the disease when the catarrhal symptoms predominate. The cough is dry at night but loosens in the day time. The child sits up to cough. The eyes aggultinate and the discharge is purulent. There is much predisposition to earache. The eruptions are slow in coming out and when fully out are of a dark appearance. There is great dryness of lips without thirst and child licks constantly to moisten them. Thick yellow discharge from nose. Pulsatilla is especially useful when the chronic loose cough persists as a sequelae.
Sulphur
This remedy is useful either in the first stage when the fever and catarrhal symptoms are present or when the eruption is tardy or for the sequelae. Sulphur modifies the cough when the skin is dusky and the rash does not come out or is purplish when it appears. When the chronic caught, , chronic diarrhoea, hardness of hearing, chronic discharge from ears remain after measles or the convalescence is slow and the patient is weak and prostrated, this remedy comes in beautifully.
Zinc met
When the child is too weak to develop the eruptions and rash comes out sparingly, this remedy is called for. The child lies in stupor, gritting teeth with dilated pupils and squinting and rolling of eyes. This remedy would often modify the reactivity and help the child to go through the disease normally. One of the important symptoms of this remedy is that the child cries out in sleep and awakes from sleep as if terrified.

Some cases treated.
A girl of 8 years was exposed to measles in her school. She developed fever, coryza and watering of eyes. Earlier, she had been given Aconite 6,  by another homoeopath as some of children in her neighborhood, had contracted disease. The child was dull and wanted to lie down quietly without any disturbance. She also reported headache at the base of the brain and vertigo. The mother of the child reported that she refused water even though she has great dryness in the mouth. The fever was 39°c. The child felt chilly and had considerable sneezing. The catarrhal state of the eyes and nose surely suggested the onset of measles. Based on the symptoms, Gelsemium 30 one dose every 4 hours was prescribed for two days, till the eruption came out. After 2 days the child became active and was not as apathetic as before. On the, 5 th day, the eruption were noted on the forehead and neck which spread all over the body within 24 hours. The medicine was stopped as the eruptions were satisfactory. The parents were advised to give the child milk and warm drinks not cool drinks. The measles ran its normal course without leaving any sequelae.

A, 3 years old girl with fair complexion and greenish eyes contracted measles from her elder sister. The child in its early stage was treated homoeopathically. However, the diarrhoea continued even after the successful desquamation which continued for several days. 5 does of China 30 cured her completely as well as helped her in regaining the strength as the girl was considerably prostrated after the attack of measles.

Teeth trouble tiny tots

Teeth trouble tiny tots
Black teeth Normally, teeth decay after they have erupted but there are certain factors which cause tooth decay from the very start.
If the mother has been exposed to X-rays during pregnancy.
If the mother or father has suffered from or is suffering from venereal diseases.
If during pregnancy mother has consumed strong drugs.

A Homoeopathic preparation called Kreosotum a drug manufactured from certain phenols, helps a great deal in controlling the decaying process of teeth it helps infants who suffers from v painful dentition bleeding gums mouth has a v offensive smell teeth start crumbling as soon as they erupt Kreosotum 30 ,four pills Tds.
Staphisagria is another remedy for the same type of teeth, but used for an infant who is v irritable and peevish. Let him have Staphisagria 30 Tds four pills one dose.
Tooth decay due to general weakness.
When the body becomes weak and anaemic it starts showing up in the bones and teeth. Plumbum met the Homoeopathic lead, helps anaemic individuals whose haemoglobin level is low. Plumbum met 30 Tds.
Tooth decay due to wrong hard brushes along with a wrong style of brushing cause injury to the gums, regular use of such brushes starts brushing off the gums and enamel of the teeth. Take a soft brush, brush teeth in a circular manner don't press too hard. Arnica 200 Tds will restore the injured gums  and teeth to normal if the injury is not too deep.
The most important Homoeopathic remedy which has helped a number of teeth and gums is Merc Sol. According to the correct matching of symptoms it helps in saving the teeth at times the teeth can again become normal and healthy. The symptoms call for Merc Sol are an excess of foetid, acidic and sticky saliva in the mouth which makes the gums spongy the gums receding and bleeding an ulcer might form in the gums. Merc Sol 200 C potency Tds.
Constitutional treatment.
It had been found that certain deep rooted diseases in parents or grandparents may affect the bones and teeth of the developing child. For these deep rooted suppressed illnesses only Constitutional medicines will help.
Fluoride good or bad?
Teeth are less susceptible to caries if an optimum amount of calcium and fluorine are ingested while they are developing. Fluoride combines with some of the apatite crystals in the tooth structure to make it stronger. You get the maximum benefit when it is consumed from birth until the permanent teeth have all appeared which may be between the ages of 11 and 13 .But ingestion of excessive fluoride before eruption, while the enamel is forming, may cause permanent mottling of the enamel.
Dental tonic.
Research has still to tell us how much of fluoride is good. But as far back as 200 years ago Homoeopathic and biochemic Calc fluoride, a combination of calcium and fluoride was discovered and still being used by Homoeopaths and biochemists as a good dental tonic from the time the child is born till his first dentition is over (2yeras) Calc flour 6x contains Calcium and fluoride in the corrected dosage. Both are in a very minute dosage, but the molecules are charged by the potentised method. Therefore their absorption and action strengthen the teeth
Calc fluor 6X,3 pills twice a day is an excellent dental tonic.

Hemangioma

A hemangioma is benign (non cancerous) tumour made out of blood vessels. There are many types of hemangiomas, and they can occur throughout the body, including in skin, muscle, bone and internal organs.
Because hemangiomas very rarely become cancerous, most do not require any medical treatment. However, some hemangiomas can be disfiguring, and many people seek a doctor's care for cosmetic reasons.
Signs and symptoms.
Hemangiomas are usually painless, red to blue colored lesions on the skin, lips or inside of the mouth eyes and any other body parts. Most often soft to touch. Superficial lesions may bleed or turn into sores,  particularly if bumped or injured.
Deep hemangiomas in muscle may cause pain,  as well as swelling around the hemangioma that increase with activity.
Hemangiomas in bones may cause pain and enlargement of bone..
Hemangiomas can be confused with other vascular malformations, because treatment may vary considerably depending on whether the lesion is hemangioma or other type of malformation, a through doctor's examination is recommended.. During the physical examination doctor will inspect and palpate any mass, noting exactly where it is located, what it feels like and perhaps any surrounding changes in the skin. Although diagnose based on history and physical examination alone, imaging tests can be useful..
X-ray and computed tomography (CT) scans. CT scan may show a cavernous hemangioma if it has calcifications.
Magnetic resonance images (MRI) scans. These scans can create clear images of soft structures like a hemangioma. Hemangiomas in MRI scan are often described as a bag of worms.
Angiogram test.
Biopsy.
Blood tests for genetic analysis
There are two principal types of begin vascular tumours hemangiomas commonly seen in infants. Infantile hemangiomas, which are most common, usually appear 2_3 weeks after birth, grow rapidly over the next 6 months, then begin to involute.
Although infantile hemangiomas may occur anywhere on the body, they are seen mostly often in the head neck and eye region. Most infantile hemangiomas begin their growth phase in first few weeks of life, although deeper subcutaneous hemangiomas are occasionally not noticed until patients are a few months old.
Homoeopathic medicines.
Hamamlis vir is a specific remedy.
Calc flour Enlarged blood vessels.
Arnica  an excellent remedy for hemangiomas
Zinc met on upper or lower eye lids
Conium and Staphysagaria Nodules on the lids.
Thuja hemangiomas on eye lids when there is history of Suppression of vaccination.
Bartya carb especially about the neck.
Hemangiomas on tongue Anthrac and Carb an.

Experience with some potencies

Experience some Potencies.

In some cases a particular medicine is found and known to be more useful in a particular Potency than in any other Potency. Such Potencies have been regarded as specific by clinical experiences. To illustrated Sabal serrulata for prostatitic enlargement in 200 C Potency has worked better than Q or any other Potency. Similarly, Stellaria media in 2 x works excellently..
Some Nosodes act better in high potency I.e.200 and some in 30 c potency and above 200 Medorrhinum and Sphyilinum works better in 200 and higher Potencies only.
Bowel Nosodes As a general rule use the high potency when the mentals are prominent for gross pathology and marked pathological symptoms employ the lower Potencies.
With outstanding mentals the Nosodes in 1 m Potency or higher maybe preferred but if there is evidence of advanced pathological conditions such as advanced rheumatoid arthritis or malignancy, the 6 th decimal may be employed.
Homoeopathy has also taken up vaccine therapy and dr. J.G. Hare of London Homoeopathic hospital has introduced the use 3x and 30 x Potencies of the vaccines.i.e Staphylococcin, Staphylococcus, Streptococcin, Bacillus Acnes, Bacillus coli, Bacillus influenza, Bacillus typhus Gonococcus etc.
Glandular medicines such as Brain, Corpus lut, Mammary, Ovarian parotid, Pancreatin, Parathyroid, Pineal, Pituitary, Placenta, Prostate, Superarental, Secretin, Spleen, Thymus and Throid are used in low Potency 3x or 6x .
The curative power of certain medicines is even available in low Potencies and as such drs like Boericke and Clarke have recommended their use in low Potencies, such medicines are Abies can ( 1st to 3rd) Absinthium 1st to 6 th Ars iod 2,to3x etc.
Experience tells us the following medicines are very useful in 30 the Potencies.
Aconite, Ant crud Ant tart, Aurum met, Baptisia, Belladonna, Coculus, Corallium Dulcamara Eupt perf Ferrum met Gels etc.
Where physician is not in a position to make distinction in between the two medicines and he is in a great confusion owing to the similarity of symptoms he may select either of two medicines which has the majority of the characteristic symptoms and give the same in lower attenuation 6 to 12 . Although correct prescription brings reputation to Homoeopath but to err is human. That is why it has rightly been remarked that a Homoeopath may fail but never does the Homoeopathy.
General principles
All those cases which could not be covered earlier are described below for the guidance of the practitioners.
High Potencies are advised in following cases.
The more the symptoms are functional rather than organic.
The more dynamic and or deep acting the nature of the drug.
To antidotes the ill effects of low Potencies and crude drugs ( remembering the hazard in the use of high Potencies in organic destructive disorders)
To rouse reaction in refractory cases.
The higher and highest dilutions are more useful in
All diseases of nervous system generally
In all sensitive persons of both sexes particularly those who have never taken any medicine of any kind.
Diseases of skin.
Low Potencies are advise
In dynamic or low conditions of the vital force.
For palliative purpose with partial indications
In acute disease low Potencies . When dealing with vegetable substance low Potencies, lesions disorders low Potencies, if you administere a medicine for one Symptom alone, the low Potency for functional disorders medium Potencies.
Some medicines have their own donts particularly in high Potencies. For example Silicea and Sulphur high are dangerous drugs to be given when there's a structural disease in organs that are  vital.Phosphours in high potency be avoided in phthisis in a chronic case Lycopodium high at the start is advisable.Belladona in high potency if frequently repeated may prove fatal.High Potency of Kali carb in gout, Psorinum in asthma are prohibited.Silicea high must not be administered to cases who have been grafted with foreign/ artificial matter
When high potency has been administerd in an incurable case or one with marked pathological changes and it has resulted in aggarvations which the vital energy can not cope with or the aggregation is very painful, the patient is going near to the end of life, the physician must antidotes.
When lamp of life is burning very low the exhibition of Homoeopathic medicine high or low is probably like a gust of wind.
In domestic practice the lower attenuations may be used with much greater safety than the higher.

Intermittent Fever

Intermittent Fever or malaria is a febrile condition characterised by the paroxysmal symptoms with chill, heat and sweating stages which alternate with a pyretic periods. Headache, vomiting, diarrhoea, rigor, or convulsions are the usual symptoms along with a temperature which at times reaches 40.5°c or more.
The exciting cause of the disease is a protozoa called Plasmodium. The three species of this protozoa cause varying periodicity, namely Plasmodium vivax causes tertian malaria or quotidian malaria, Plasmodium malariae causes quartan malaria and Plasmodium Falciparum causes the most serious form of malaria with constitutional symptoms.
Tertian malaria, in which the febrile paroxysms occur every third day (every other day)
Quotidian malaria. Malaria in which the febrile symptoms occur every day.
Quartan malaria,  Malaria in which the febrile symptoms occur every fourth day. (every three days)
The malaria parasite is carried by Anopheles mosquito which transmitd the same from a malaria carrier to the health person by its bite. This disease is often found during warm weather and in people who live in marshy and swampy places.
Besides the above types of malaria, some are reported to be suffering from congenital malaria, in which the Plasmodium is transmitted to the child by its mother during intrauterine life. The affection becomes evident soon after the birth.
Symptoms
A typical attack of malaria runs a cyclic course and consists of the following stages,,,
Chill stage It is sometimes feeble in other cases it is very intense. There is rigor, headache and nausea which sometimes results in vomiting. The skin is dry and cold and the patient wants to be covered heavily. There may be thirst or not during this stage.
Fever stage  This stage follows chill stage and is characterised by high fever up to 41°c, headache, nausea and sometimes pain in abdomen and region of spleen. The patient generally throws off the covers. The skin is burning hot. The children often develop convulsions during this stage.
Sweating stage . This is third stage follows the fever stage. During this,  the temperature drops and profuse sweat follows, all the unpleasant symptoms disappear and the patient sleeps.
The entire attack generally lasts from 4 to 48 hours. It is often observed that most attacks occur in the afternoon and the highest temperature peak occurs from evening to early morning hours. The temperature curve often varies with type of the parasite.
The associated symptoms generally found in benign types of malaria are enlargement of spleen and sometimes of liver. In blood picture, besides the presence of different stages of the parasite, marked reduction in the leucocytes count occurs.
The malignant form of malaria which is also known as tropical malaria sometimes exhibits the symptoms of encephalitis or meningitis and mainly leads to malaria coma, owing to considerable concentration of the parasites in the cerebral capillaries.
During the a pyrexia period, the patient generally recovers his strength  but weakness, anaemia and other complications may occur if the attacks follow each other for a prolonged period.
Generally, self cure takes place following the reduction in the fever paroxysms and cessation of chill and sweat.
Chronic malaria may occur if there are frequent relapses,  which results in malaria cachexia and anaemia with Symptoms of tendency to haemorrhage, diarrhoea, oedema and deep changes in spleen and liver. The spleen may be stony hard and very enlarged with pain and discomfort.
In children below two years, the course of disease may not be so cyclic and typical but may show the symptoms of excitement, pallor of face, convulsions and vomiting. The temperature and the attacks are irregular and sweating is mild.
The incubation period of the disease is 10-15 days, however the attack and fever may occur several weeks or even months after infection.
Diagnosis
The diagnosis of the disease is fairly simple as the stages are generally well marked. If the temperature is taken every two hours, the cure will often make the picture clear.

The blood test often provides a confirmed proof of malaria which shows ring like annular bodies at the beginning of the attack, minor rings chill and initial heat stage, mature forms during the fever.
There is a demonstrable enlargement of spleen or liver or both. The patient also complain of pain in the spleenic region.
Certain degree of anaemia may be present especially in advanced cases. Besides, herpes in lips and face may be present.
Effects
Some of the effects of malaria in children are herpes of nose, eyelids and corner, anaemia, malaria hepatitis, especially after quartan infections  splenomegaly, loss of memory and malaria cachexia.
Constitutional causes.
Not all persons bitten by the Plasmodium vector Anopheles mosquito develop malaria. It is only some persons including who have a malaria constitution that are affected by this malady,(sycotic)  constitution and have an excess of hydrogen and consequently water in the blood and tissues are victims of this malady. The children who feel worse in cold or damp weather, and in rain and are aggravated by everything which in any way increases the atoms water by baths, eating of aquatic animals etc, and which increase the attraction of the organic molecules of oxygen, carbon and hydrogen for water. Thus the intermittent fevers, vaccinosis, gout, etc are some of the disease peculiar to this type of constitution which provides a rich soil to the germs or protozoa to grow and multiply in the human organism. Until this constitutional defect is treated, the tendency to this and a score of the maladies will remain in a child for ever. And as Von Grauvogl stresses, if a patient with intermittent Fever even before his sickness, was always affected by damp weather, he is not cured, even though the last paroxysm occurred years ago,  so as long as he does not feel quite as well in damp as in dry weather.
Preventive
It is essential that children should be protected from mosquito bites by providing mosquito nets screen at night. Stagnant water in and around the house should be removed or sprinkled with kerosene, to kill the mosquito larvae. Spraying of walls and premises with DDT is generally recommended.
The children who get ill on exposure to cold damp or rainy weather should be treated on constitutional level to cure their predisposition to the hydrogenoid constitution. Transfusion of blood donated by a person with latent malaria are highly unsuitable and may cause cause severe constitutional disturbances in a child. The transfusion should,  therefore, preclude such a possibility by the necessary antibodies tests of the blood..
Certain factors such as chill, wetting, exposure, exhaustion, blood loss, anesthestic, surgical trauma and high altitude flying may predispose a child to recurrence and relapse of the intermittent Fever.
Dr. J. H. Clarke recommends the use of Chin Sulph night and morning 30 "potency as a prophylactic measure for children who go in to malaria districts.
During the cold stage, child should be well covered with plenty of blankets which should be dry. During hot stage, cold drinks and tepid sponging as given under fever should be given to lower down the temperature. During sweat stage, the child may not be covered too warmly and after it is over, the bed clothes and pajamas should be changed...

Homoeopathic Therapeutics.
In malaria the medicines require frequent repetitions. It is necessary to pay more attention to symptoms and observe how chill  heat and sweat follow one another, as well as the occurrence of thirst and periodicity.
Dr. Hering cautions in the treatment of malaria, thus,  In commencement of the disease, it is better not to suppress it by Cinchona or quinine, it it should be done only in cases of great necessity, at the same time it can be best cured by homoeopathic remedies. Later when the attacks are more violent and the patient feels well in the intervals, the disease is more difficult to cure and in these cases it may sometimes be suppressed by quinine, though it often has bad consequences. At a still later period when the spleen and liver are swollen, take care not to use much quinine, it will in most cases only hasten dropsy and other succeeding diseases. He further advises, if you cannot find the suitable remedy, give a dose of Ipecacuanha after the attack and repeat it every three to four hours until the next day, a few hours before the time last attack came on,  if no attack comes on, give nothing else on that day, but give a dose on the following day, a few hours before expected attack. If it returns watch the symptoms and give another remedy. If you have selected one, give it first, after the attack is over and second repeat it a few before time the next attack is expected to return. If the fever had been stopped, but return again, give a first remedy for the cause of the relapse, and then the remedy, after the administration of which it stopped. Some of the important medicines frequently required during different stages of malaria are discussed here below,,,,,
Apis  A useful remedy, in intermittent Fever when the characteristic chill at 3 pm is present and the child complains of great thirst. The chill is worse on motion and heat,. But the stages of heat and sweat are thirstless with scanty and high coloured urine. Feeling of oppression in chest. Sweat is often wanting. Whining tearfulness is a useful symptom often accompanying the ailment. After the cold stage, the patient breaks out in profuse urticaria and is very drowsy.
Aranea  periodicity, coldness and great susceptibility to dampness are some of red line symptoms of this remedy. It is suited as a constitutional remedy for malaria poisoning when the patient complains of continued chilliness. Dr. Von Grauvogl greatly praises this remedy for hydrogenoid intermittent, when the spleen is greatly enlarged and the patient is unable to live near sea, lakes, rivers etc. Suitable for quotidian and tertian type of malaria. Coldness with pain in long bones and feeling of stone in abdomen at the same hour daily. The chill almost freezes the patient, and the stages of heat and sweat are either feeble or absent. Chill starts at 7pm and lasts till 8 in the morning, every day at the same hour, with cough loss of appetite, sleeplessness and great exhaustion. This valuable remedy of the animal kingdom tops the list of all similar remedies which have great sensitiveness to damp and cold places.
Ars alb. Suitable when the different stages are not distinctly marked or when the paroxysm is imperfectly developed. Arsenic is the remedy of choice in pernicious malaria due to Plasmodium falciparum when vomiting, purging and weakness are present. Heat stage is well marked in this remedy giving a feeling as if hot water is circulating in Veins, the chill stage is usually feeble or absent. One of the important symptoms of the remedy is the thirst for large quantities of water during the sweating stage. The sweat is cold, clammy and prostrating. Besides, burning pains in stomach, in supportable pain in limbs, anxiety and restlessness, oppression of chest, bitter taste in the mouth, buzzing in the ears during sweating and headache continuing after hot stage are some of the additional dy, also suitable for malaria cachexia when the sallow pallor, clean red tongue are present as after abuse of quinine. Again, the longer the disease has lasted more is Ars generally indicated, because the more deeply have the organs, and tissue been affected. Especially is the case where the liver and the spleen have swollen.
This remedy is also suitable for typho malarial fevers.
Bryonia
Suitable for ordinary intermittent Fever, when due to exposure, there is great inflammation and irritation of mucous and serous membranes. The chill is attended with external coldness, great thirst, violent dry racking cough and stitching pains in chest and region of spleen. Lips parched, dry and cracked with dryness of mouth, tongue and throat especially during heat stage. Bursting, splitting headache suitable for tertian malaria..
Caps
Chilliness preceded by thirst, followed by heat without thirst. The child knows that chill is coming as he feels thirsty, but extremely chilly and shivers after each drink becomes ill humoured during cold stage. The chill is violent and long continued, begins in back, between shoulder blades and extends to the whole body. Suitable for tertian and quotidian type of malaria.
Carbo veg
Attack is preceded by or attended with pains in the teeth and limbs, thirst only in the cold stage with redness of face and sick stomach during hot stage.
Ceanothus
Useful in malaria when spleen is enormously enlarged and is painful. Violent dyspnoea owing to spleenitis and constant urging to urinate.
China
Suitable for tertian type of malaria ailments worse every other day with all stages well marked. Most suitable for endemic and epidemic type of malaria, which return every week. Thirty before the chill and during sweat, but is thirst less during heat stage.
Chin Sulph  Suitable for tertian type of malaria when the chill starts at 10_11 am or 3pm with violent shaking and pain in dorsal vertebrae on pressure or lying down. All the stages are well marked and the child is thirsty during chill lips and nails turn blue ringing noise in ears.
Cina
Suitable for malaria when there is vomiting and voracious appetite before, during or after fever and during heat stage, face cold hands warm. Thirsty during cold or heat stage and very cross, does not want to be touched or covered.
Eup perf
Useful in tertian or double tertian type intermittent Fever when accompanied by soreness of all parts and bone pains. The child anticipates the chill as he develops insatiable thirst and bone pains before the chill. Vomiting after chill, which comes on the morning of one day and the evening of the other day and begins in the back. The paroxysm generally begins at 7_9 am
Gelsemium
An excellent remedy against intermittent Fever when the chill is so violent that patient is to be held so that he may not shake so much. Thirst less and profuse urination during the cold stage.
Ipeca
Suitable for tertian type of malaria worse in warm room, and from external heat feels better in open air and by drinking though there is no thirst during chill. Useful in cases of relapses of intermittent Fever.
Lycopodium
Paroxysm between 4_8 pm may come between 8_9 am or between 6_7 pm.
Nat mur
Chill commences between 10_11 am beginning in back and feet,  with hammering headache, weakness and blue nails and lips. Long continued chill followed by moderate heat. The child feels extremely thirsty in heat stage, which is followed by profuse sweat which relives all pains, except headache. This remedy is more useful in inveterate and chronic malaria cases with weakness, weariness, anorexia, constipation, etc.
Nat Sulph
Suitable in marsh malaria owing to living in damp and cold dwellings. Children of hydrogenoid constitution who are chilly and are best in warm dry air and suffer by rainy weather or by eating aquatic animals, plants, etc.. Paroxysm generally comes between 6_9 pm
Pulsatilla
Suitable in all types of malaria that is quotidian, tertian and quartan when the nature, severity and period keep changing. No two attacks are alike. The attack is preceded by stomach disorder and is accompanied by thirstlessness in all stages. Chill starts around 4 pm with vomiting and feeling of heat and chilliness in different parts. During heat stage, the child feels intolerably warm and searches for a cold spots in the room which he feels too hot and stuffy, wants doors and windows open. The child has one cheek red and the other pale, the Veins are distended and look of anxiety writ on his face. The child may feel thirsty during heat stage but it decreases as the heat increases. Sweat stage with great thirst.
Pyro.  Suitable for quotidian type malaria or chronic malaria threatening to develop into malarial cachexia. The periodicity of the attack is regular and distinct with wiry pulse. The chills usually comes in the evening around 7 pm, begins in the back and is violent, shaking the patient. Hyperpyrexia with temperature shooting upto 41 °c. The pulse and temperature ratio is disturbed, pulse is abnormally rapid, and out of proportion to the temperature. Great heat with profuse hot sweat, but sweating does not cause a fall in temperature. Wants to move as he feels relief.
Rhux tox
Suitable for quotidian and tertian type malaria, when the attack comes in the later part of the day and consists of heat preceded and followed by chill. The chill comes at 7 pm, begins in the high and is usually attended with a dry cough and restlessness. Chilly as if cold water were poured over him followed by heat and inclination to stretch the limbs and yawn incessantly. Excessive heat as if hot water running through blood vessels the child is extremely restless and changes position continually, one moment it is on the back, the other moment it is on the sides. The other concomitant symptoms calling for this remedy are heat accompanied by rash, pain in bowels and diarrhoea pressure at the pit of the stomach, urticaria and the tongue thickly coated except the red and triangular tip.
Sepia
Suitable for chronic, spoiled or masked cases of malaria. The chill normally comes at 11am and is attended with great shivering and thirst. Violent heat followed by profuse perspiration. Feet cold and wet.
Sulphur
Suitable for chronic cases of intermittent Fever when the attacks relapse and when the carefully selected remedies fail to act. Sulphur clears the disease picture or helps in complete cure by itself. Chill creeping from sacrum to back worse by open air or slightest movement. During shivering there is extreme coldness of nose, hands, feet, chest, back, abdomen and genitals. The chill and rigor, strangely enough, is not followed by heat but during the heat stage there are flushes of heat in face with shivering over body. Burning heat of palms and soles, cold feet,  with burning soles the patient puts out of bed to cool them off. The flushes of heat may end in moist skin and faintness.
Tarentula his
Suitable for chronic, spoiled and masked cases of intermittent Fever. The chill which shakes the patient is followed by long lasting heat and is often accompanied by restlessness. The child must be in in constant motion though the motion aggravates all the symptoms. The child is sensitive to music, averse to company but want some one to be with him.
Some cases treated.

A delicate 9 years old boy had quotidian type malaria for 3 days. On fourth day at about 10 am when chill shook the boy so violently his mother held him, heavily wrapped brought to me considering the above symptom and the time of occurrence of the chill as well as the thirstlessmes (as I was told that the child never asked for water during any of the stages on previous days)
I prescribed Gelsemium 200 two doses 10 minutes apart. The effect was rapid. The violence of the chill was reduced and heat with prostration supervened. The temperature rose to 39°c and the child lay down quietly. He complained of pain in forehead. A dose of Gelsemium 200 was repeated in heat stage as well. No more medicines was needed. Surprisingly, the child had no further attacks of the intermittent Fever. Though it is often recommend that medicine should better be given after the attack and in repeated doses, I chose to administer the medicine during the chill and heat stages in frequent doses and the rapid recovery followed.

M,  had tertian fever for five or six weeks. Pulsatilla 200 was given which seemed to aggravate, changing the fever to a quotidian type symptoms. Paroxysm  commenced at 8 am. Hard and shaking chills, last one hour, after which great thirst followed by fever with no thirst, headache flushed face dry red eyes and after the fever, sweating with thirst, but very profuse perspiration at night, particularly upon the parts on which he lies. Great debility after perspiration. China 200 ten doses one every three hours. Speedy recovery followed.

Miss C,  15 years old school girl consulted me for her severe headache over eyes in temples and occupit which according to her had lingered on after a bad attack of malaria about six months ago. She had been treated with quinine after positive blood tests for Plasmodium. The dull pain remained almost throughout the day and was worse from studies or mental exertion. She also complained of coryza with thin watery discharge and sneezing in the noon. She had grey hair which reported had started appearing 5 years ago. Sometimes she had severe earache and sweeling of lymphatic glands.
On these symptoms, I prescribed two doses of Nat mur 1m apart from one hour. After about, 10 days she had great relief in headache and coryza. Later one dose of Nat mur, 10 m completely cured her. Her hair also started regaining normal colour.

One of the most puzzling cases of intermittent Fever I have ever cured is that of a, 13 years of old boy who lacked most of the routine symptoms but had some striking symptoms which I missed owing to my absence at a time of the occurrence and going according to narration of the parents.
The child had paroxysms on alternate days around 8 am. The chill was violent and was preceded by intense thirst and pain in the whole body. Vomiting of water during chill. During heat,  the temperature rose sharply to 40°c and the child went into convulsions and had considerable difficulty in breath (as was narrated to me by parents) . The heat stage was followed by scanty sweating. When I saw the boy the paroxysms was over. Any way,  considering the above dy, I prescribed a dose of Eup perf 200 with the instructions to immediately call for me as soon as the next paroxysms started. I was told that the child felt prostrated during the apyrexia period and complained of bitter taste in the mouth. I was called when the paroxysms struck the child again on the third day. The chill had just started after the child had taken two glasses of water and it was heavily covered with blankets. Eup perf 200 was administered every ten minutes without any difference in the intensity of the chill which then was followed by great heat. I was baffled by the apparent inefficiency of Eup perf inspite of being well indicated and being given after the earlier attack and during the present attack. Soon I observed that the heat stage brought the frightening convulsions and terrible dyspnoea. On examination, I observed terrible swelling of spleen. During the convulsions, the child became very rigid, bending backward. The mother of the child started weeping as she thought the child was going to die. The convulsions and rigidity immediately brought the to my mind the drug picture of Cicuta vir which was immediately administered in, 30 c potency, two doses 10 minutes apart. The picture immediately changed for the better. The child straightened up,  the convulsions disappeared, and breathing became free, which brought great relief to me and the child's parents. It seems the dyspnoea of Cicuta is connected with enormous swelling of spleen. The child had no more attacks of fever, but as a safeguard, a dose of Cicuta vir 200 was administered to the child to check the recurrence of cerebral symptoms.

Height increasing

Hieght increasing Generally boys grow till the age of 20 and girls at the age of 18 years. After that growth happens only in exceptional cases. Growth after maturation ( adulthood) isn't possible as most of cells are fully matured and grown. Growth of the body biologically stops around the 20 years in male child and 18 years in female child due to the fusion of epiphysical/ growing ends of the bones due to effects of the sex hormones. Celliac disease

Celliac disease is an autoimmune disease triggered by the consumption of Gluten containing foods.
Gluten is a general name for the proteins found in wheat berries, semolina spelt farina rye barley and triticale.Gluten helps foods maintain their shape acting as a glue that holds foods together gluten found in many types of foods such as bread, soups pasta cereals.
The medical approach for celliac disease is a life long gluten free diet it may not be enough to prevent may complications associated with disease, have intestinal abnormalities.
Allergic symptoms of Gluten
Infertility
Joint pain
Digestive issues
Neurological disorder
Mood swings depressed
Migraine.
Chronic fatigue syndrome and pain.
Etc.
Gluten in food industry refers to storage proteins in all grain. These storage proteins are beneficial in food production, gluten free to the medical community refers only to the small intestine known to damage the small intestine for personswith gluten sensitive enteropathy ( celliac disease and dermatitis herptiformis) gluten free diet should avoid the storage proteins found in wheat berries semolina spelt farina rye barley and other cereals.
People who have been advised by their physician to be on a gluten free diet should eat gluten free food.
Blood tests are available to screen for celiac diseases but possitive small bowel biopsy is required to confirm the diagnosis.
Individuals with severe food allergies can eat the products should consult their physician gluten free foods are safe for celiac diseases.
The condition is difficult to live with and is not helped by fad dieters.
The trick here's to find eggs and wheat other'cereals free from gluten.
The majority of our factories are not grain free and therefore the products made in them cannot classed as gluten free. Consumers must read the ingredients list to be cleared when a products contains any alleric ingredients as per the recipe or trance amounts, for gluten intolerance or allergies such ingredients would be cereals such as wheat barley rye oats groundnut etc amongst others.
Are you gluten intolerant? A huge amount of population is now not they are allergic to some kind of food.
Stomach cramps, and bloating every time consuming allergic food..
Homoeopathic medicines
Allergy to berries Fragaria ves
Allergy to sugar or cane juice Saccharum off.and Ars.
Allergy to milk Urtica urens.
Allergy to eggs, starches honey, ragwood, pollen onions animal food Nat Mur and ferrum met
Allergy to wheat Psorinum, Pulsatilla and Nat Mur.
Allergy to chocolates cooked animal food Sulphur.
Tubreculinum and sulphur are head remedy removing allergy against milk milk products eggs sardines.
Tubreculinum should be given first in 200 Potency if no improvement is achieved with two doses given every week try Sulphur 200 a dose every week if Potency does not respond increase to,1 m potency every fortnightly.
Allergy by Banana Rumex
Allergy to chicken Bacilinum Bryonia

Fever, Simple

WFever is elevation of body temperature above the normal value 37 °(98.6f) . Fever b itself is not a disease, but it is a Symptom of many a disease from the most simple to the fatal. In infants the mild periods of pyrexia mark the acquisition of immunity from the micro organisms with which man has to live.
In normal children delivered at term, the temperature directly after birth is elevated to 37.7 °C to 38.2°C (in the rectum), but in a very few hours, this temperature goes down becoming normal at the end of 24 hours, 36.6 °to 37.°c..The temperature may sometimes suddenly go to 38-39°C and even higher on the third or fourth day of life. This is so called transitory or dehydration fever of the newborn,  which is probably due to an inadequate fluid intake.
Mild disturbance of the evening temperature (37.2°to 3707°C) for prolonged periods are by no means uncommon in early life, and the physical examination often draws
blank. During the entire period of infancy, temperature vacillations (the difference between morning and evening temperatures) not exceeding 0.3°C are characteristic. The rectal and mouth temperatures come in separate shapes. The rectal thermometer has a round bulb so that it is not not sharp, while the mouth thermometer has a long slender bulb so that the mercury in the bulb can be more quickly warmed in the mouth.
In older children, sometimes the temperature can be taken under the armpit. The temperature in the armpit is about one degree Fahrenheit lower than the mouth temperature.
Before taking the rectal temperature, the baby should be laid on its stomach across the mother's or nurse's knees, so that the baby cannot squirm out of this the ceasily.
Now a days most of thermometers are available in degrees Celsius (C°) To facilitate  the conversion into degrees Fahrenheit (F°), the following chart will be helpful.

Fahrenheit              Celsius
97                                 36.1
98                                 36.7
98.6                             37
99                                37.2
100                             37.8
101                            38.8
102                            38.9
103                           39.4
104                           40
105                           40.6
106                           41.1

*For conversion of degree Celsius to Fahrenheit multiply by 9/5 and add 32. To convert degrees Fahrenheit to degree Celsius subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9.
In infants and children, it is necessary that besides temperature, the rate of respiration and the pulse should also be observed to establish a ratio between these. In certain diseases like parathyroid, the temperature and pulse ratio is disturbed.
The comparative respiration and pulse rates ratio of infants and children are given below,,

Age   pulse per minute     respiration
                                             Per minute

In utero     150_140            _
New born    140_130           _
During
Ist year        130_115           35
Second
Year              115_100            25
Third
Year                100_95            _
8_14
Years               84                  20
                                               Puberty

Generally, for every degree Fahrenheit temperature rises in a child,  respiration rate increases by two or three and pulse rate increases by 10 beats.
It is advisable to take the temperature of a child during fever, every two hours, and in the persistent fevers to prepare a temperature chart to judge the type of ailment and other irregularities.
Effects
Many infants and young children develop convulsions at high temperature of say 39 or 40 °c. Continuous high temperature may also lead to meningitis and brain damage..

Homoeopathic Therapeutics
Aconite Fever after exposure to dry, cold weather or chilling of body after over heating especially when warm and sweaty. One of the oft used remedies in the initial stages of fevers which come on suddenly and are accompanied by chill, cold sweat and icy coldness of face. The child is chilly when uncovered or touched. Skin dry and hot with violent thirst. The child is restless and anxious, tosses about in bed with full bounding pulse. The fever often terminate with perspiration. This remedy is also useful for chill and fever preceding the inflammatory fever. The child with red face, great heat and outward pressing, headache during fever is especially benefited by this remedy. Fever caused by Fright or fear.
Supplementary treatment
In case of high temperatures 39.5_40*c,it is necessary to adopt accessory measures like cold compress or cold sponging or even cold immersion to bring down the temperature. The details are here,,,,
Cold sponging, cold sponging cleans the skin and stimulates its action. It cools the body and brings down the temperature. It works like massage to the skin. Water at a temperature of 18°c is used.
Take a wet towel without wringing much water from it. Pass it over the surface of a limb. Then rub the limb with another towel, soaked in water and wrung out..
After sponging, cover the body with dry cloth, or a thin blanket. Change the bed sheet. Change the clothes of the patient also. He will feel quite refreshed.
For lowering the temperature, vigorous and prolonged sponging with an abundant supply of water is required.
Cold compress  A cold compress is a local application of cold by means of a cloth wrung from cold water. Towels of ordinary cotton clothes may be used. Several folds of old cloth are dipped in cold water and wrung out. They can be dipped in ice water also. The wringing should be barely sufficient to prevent dropping.
The compress must be frequently renewed always before it is warmed to any great extent. The thicker the compress, the less frequency will it require for renewal.
Cold immersion  This is more drastic method than wet pack. It is used when wet pack cannot be relief upon to reduce the temperature and quicker lowering of temperature is needed than can be accomplished by wet pack.
Place the patient in stub,  half filled with water, add on cold water. Let the body be completely immersed in cold water. If a suitable bath tub is not available let the patient sit on stool or cot. Cover his body with a wet sheet. Now go on poring water over the cover. Temperature will be brought down quickly. Then dry up his body with a dry towel and place him in the bed. One of the important symptoms of this remedy is the icy coldness of genitals (italic mine)  profuse perspiration at night. The child is at first sleepless and restless but soon becomes drowsy.
This remedy usually comes in after Aconite and often completes the cure.

Some cases treated
A 14 years old girl suddenly developed headache and fever at night. The girl complained of dull pain in the abdomen which was hard. The temperature was 38.8 c and headache was so severe that she had tied bandage tightly around her head. She also complained of bitter taste in the mouth, nausea and had had no stool that day. The tongue was coated light yellowish, the lips and mouth were dry and she had excessive thirst. The pulse was full and quick. Bryonia 30 every two hours was prescribed. Around midnight temperature rose to 39°C which came down after she passed stool. The temperature then continued declining and was normal in the morning. No headache was reported.
A homoeopathic remedy when well selected works quicker than any other medicine in any other system of medicine. Next day, she received a dose of Bryonia 200 to safeguard against rise in temperature or constipation which is often linked with fever in children.

An interesting case which baffled many a homoeopath, allopath and vaids but was ultimately cured by seemingly uncommon homoeopathic remedy for fever is given here to impress upon the reader and drs. that a homoeopath may fail, but homoeopathy never fails.
A, 12 years old child developed high fever which kept fluctuating during day and night. An allopath declared it as typhoid and administered large doses of chloromycetin. The fever which inspite of the strong antibiotic continued for 12 days and ultimately suppressed. By that time the child had consumed 20  capsules of the drug. After a few days, the child started getting low fever of 37.2 to 37.8 °c every day in the afternoon along with loose dark brown stools. The child felt weak and had sallow complexion which the father reported, was the result of the protracted treatment. All sorts of medicines in homoeopathy, allopathy and Ayurveda were tried but, the fever showed no signs of abatement. Finally case was referred to me. I carefully took the case and recorded the following symptoms of importance.,,
Fever started around 1PM and was its peak around, 4 pm,,
Night sweats, which made the child weak,
The child showed a considerable degree of warmth and desired cool drinks,,,
Eyes burning with occasional smarting,,,
Diarrhoea of dark brown colour 2-3 times daily worse evening,,,
Occasional spells of dizziness,,
Restlessness with weak pulse,,,
And family history of tuberculosis,,,
Considering the history of the case, I administered a dose of Chloromycetin 200 at bed time.
Next day, Ars iod 30 one dose every 3 hours was prescribed. At the end of 5 days, the child had no night sweats but the temperature continued as such. The frequency of diarrhoea was reduced to two in a day. The medicine was stopped for 3 days. No further change in the condition was noticed. I tried to elicit more symptoms, which revealed two important symptoms namely, child was thirstless and since the last few days had been asking for an additional pillow at night. The whole case was recapitulated which clearly pointed to Pulsatilla which also has fever aggravation around 4pm. Pulsatilla 200 one dose was prescribed which in two days relieved the child of the distressing symptoms of low fever. Pulsatilla 1m was latter administered to check further recurrence. The parents were advised to feed the child well, especially food rich in vitamins and proteins. And the child is going on well. No any further medicine.

Epilepsy

Epilepsy means a tendency to have seizers and a symptom of brain disease where there are periodical changes in the neurological function, which is often accompanied by alterations in consciousness due to excessive, abnormal, electrical impulses from the nerve cells within the brain. The epileptic seizures are divided into generalized seizures or partial seizures. In generalized seizures ( grand mal) the patient gets an aura that is followed by loud crying, biting of his own tounge, increased salivation or deveops froth at mouth, there may be violent jerking of limbs he , he may urinate or defecate and there can be resultant sudden loss of consciousness with total loss of memory for the attack. The petit amal type of eilepsy is the one that is usually seen in small children with complaints of cessation of mental activity for a few seconds, without loss of consciousness and without the patient realizing what had happened. These are also termed as absence attacks, where the person or the child becomes absent from his surrounding for a brief period of time and any movements of the lid, lip and tounge are possible. Continuous convulsive movements without any epileptic free Periods and without the patient regaining awareness between the attacks, usually lasting for more than twenty four hours is called as status epilepticus.
The patient usually comes with a history of involuntary urination and defecation, head injury, high fever labor, metabolic disorders ( hypoglycemia, hypocalcaemia, hyponatremia, hypomagnesemia, renal failure) certain drugs ( Pencillin isoniazid. Antimalarial, cyclosporin , phenothiazine, tricyclics, lignocaine etc) tumor, hydrocephalus infections ( menigitis, encephalopathy) cerebrovascular accidents multiple sclerosis SLE or excessive intake of alcohol.
An epileptic patient is not allowed to drive, cycle or swim and not allowed to work near fire, machinery or water, since the patient can get an attack at any time And any place. The patient should take only a shallow bath, without locking the door of and that too when someone is present in the home. The patient should be assured that a normal life is possible, along with medications.
During an attack, put the patient in a semi prone position with head low and roll the patient onto any side to the secretions flow out of the mouth, instead of it getting aspirated into the lungs and leading to further complications. Ensure that the airway is clear. Pressing the tounge down with the help of a spoon is necessary to prevent a tounge bite and is also useful to prevent the Fallin back of the tounge ( leading to respiratory obstruction) . For convulsions that occur in small children immerse the legs of the Child in hot Water for five to ten minutes after which if the attack goes away, the child should be wiped dry. If the child is not better or if the attack occurs again, follow the same procedure again and also apply some cold water simultaneously to the head of the Child.
The person who had an epileptic attack may occasionally be drowsy and confused for about half an hour to one hour and should not be left alone until he has recovered completely. If the convulsions continue for more than five minutes or if it recurs without the person getting conscious, one needs immediate medical attention.

Keloid scar

Keloids can be considered to be scars that don't know when to stop. Keloid,  sometimes referred to as a keloid scar, is a tough heaped up scar that rises quite abruptly above the rest of the skin. It usually has a smooth top and a pink or purple colour. Keloids are irregularly shaped and tend to enlarge progressively. Unlike scars.
Drs do not understand exactly why keloids form. Alternations in the cellular signals that control proliferation and inflammation may be related to the process of keloid formation, but these changes have not yet been characterised sufficiently to explain this defect in wound healing.
Individuals with darkly pigmented skin are more likely to develop keloids with those of African, Hispanic and Asian ethnicity are greatest risk.
Keloids are equally common in women and men. Keloids are less common in children and elderly. Though people with darker skin are more likely to develop them, keloids can occur in people of all skin types. In some cases, the tendency to form keloids seems to run in families.
Keloids develop most often on the chest, shoulders and earlobes. They seldom develop on the face.
A keloid has a characteristic microscopic appearance and may be distinguished from a hypertrophic scar and a dermatofibroma.
Keloids are raised over growth of scar tissue that occur at the site of a skin injury. They occur where trauma, surgery, blisters, vaccination,  acne,  or body piercing have injured the skin. Less commonly keloids may form in places where the skin has not had a visible injury. Keloids differ from normal mature scars in composition and size. Some people are prone to keloid formation and may develop them in several places.
When keloid is associated with a skin incision or injury after the original wound has closed, becoming larger and more visible until it reaches a final size. They generally occur between 10 and 35 years of age and affects both sexes.
Symptoms
Keloids usually appear in areas of previous trauma but may extend beyond the injured area. They are shiny, smooth and rounded skin elevations that may be pink, purple, or brown. They can be doughy or firm and rubbery to the touch and they often feel itchy, tender, or uncomfortable. They may be unsightly. A large keloid in the skin over a joint may interfere with joint function.
Diagnosis
A dr. diagnoses a keloid on the basis of its appearance and a history of tissue injury, such as surgery, acne or body piercing. In rare cases, the doctor may remove a small piece of the skin to examine under a microscope. This is called biopsy.
Keloids may continue to grow slowly for weeks, months or years. They eventually stop growing but do not disappear on their own. Once a keloid develops, it is permanent unless removed or treated successfully. It is common for keloid that have been removed or treated to return.
Keloids are harmless, cosmetic problems that do not become cancerous. Once keloids stops growing, it is usually remains stable unless the area is injured again.
