Fungal infections.
A fungal infection is caused by a type of fungus.it infects the top layer of the skin, hair or nails.
Fungal infection of the skin are known as ringworm( Tinea)
There are many types of ringworm viz body ringworm( Tinea corporis) , jock itch( Tinea cruris) athlete's foot(  Tinea pedis) scalp Ringworm(Tinea Capitis) nail ringworm( Tinea Ungum) and quite uncommonly beard ringworm( Tinea Barbara).
Any one can get fungal infection of the skin.Jock itching is more common in males.
Scalp Ringworm is seen more often in children.
Fungal infection are caused by certain types of fungi that like warm moist areas of the skin such as between the toes or fingers, in the groin, and on other parts of the body where there are folds of the skin.Ring worm is nit caused by a worm.
The fungus can be carried by kitten and puppies, combs brushes pillows, and towels and is found in areas that favours dampness, such as damp house locker rooms and showers.

Symptoms
Ringworm manifest as a rash , with ring shaped pink or red patches and a clear midpoint.
The rash may also itch ,in the groin may appear in the form of red ring like rash .It can be extremely itchy and so small blisters.
Athlete's foot appears as a scaly itchy rash there is also bacterial infection.
Sclap ringworm causes round patches of hair loss, broken hair,itchy crusty sclap sclap ringworm is extremely transmittable among children.
Nail ringworm is more common on the toenails than fingers nails
Finger nails infections are mostly affected by female but males also .
It is easy for a dr.to diagnose fungal infection.
