Drunkenness Homoeopathic remedies.

ByIn the books Homoeopathic Therapeutics I find recommended, on the strength of the Homoeopathic theory, more than forty remedies for drunkenness which may be efficacious if they are indicated by the totality of the somatic and physical symptoms in the person to be treated. But not being able as yet to make their differential indications throughly precise , I will now mention the remedies, which as the result of clinical experience, seem to be the most efficacious. I briefly state their differential indications, which my fellow physicians will complete by seeking for the remedies best indicated according to the law similia similibus curantur I the person to be treated.
Nux vom
Violent people, often cross, and whom sorrows or cares lead to drink as a means of forgetting and who spit frequently, or mild temperd people, kind and affectionate in their ordinary condition, who while drinking, become brutal even to striking, Insulting, sometimes weeping. Tendency to jealousy to, suicide by shooting or stabbing, before and during drunkenness.Inclination to sadness or to great genital excitement during drunkenness. Easily made drunk by a small quantity of alcoholic drink.Longing for red wine , white wine, beer absinth, rum ,persons inclined to get drunk for lack of anything else to do , neurotic men , and women addicted to drunkenness during or after pregnancy. Licentious, but only in imagination, still sometimes even in the urgent cases.Sometimes really immoral, mania for refusing treatment even in urgent cases. Sometimes thieving and shrewed, inclined to constipation, to vomiting, to regurgitationsb, to difficult digestion. Using tobacco inclined to gamble, spending their entire wealth little by little. Spending through ostentation, close toward his family, open handed to strangers, avoiding any society but his own family.
Lachesis
Ill natured people, hard to get along with. Inclined to violent crimes, vindictive, wicked, jealous, envious, licentious. Inclined to kill others but not to kill them selves , except to get themselves run over by a vehicle. Talking ceaselessly before or during drunkenness. Saying or doing while drunk what they would not say or do before. Appetite for brandy and absinth. Tobacco users . Sometimes spending too freely , sometimes close fisted , inconsequential.
Causticum.
Fussy quarrelsome, cheating, much inclined to be moved to years before and after drink, very great genital overexitement before and during drunkenness. Desire for brandy and wine.Sometimes inclined to theft . Tobacco users . Unable to stand continence .Young girls burning with the desire of marrying. Spendthrifts.
Sulphur.
Psoriatics. Suffers from hemorrhoids. Persons who work and go to sleep slowly with a prolonged, but not restful sleep.Slow going people, getting drunk in secret . Having neither the sentiment of duty nor streanth of will to accomplish duty. Desire for wine and whiskey. Mild before and brutal during drunkenness.More intelligent while they are drunk, saying and doing while drunk what they would neither say not do before. Obese and corpulent people. Thoughtless harum- scarum . Inclined to steal and to lie . Envious somewhat licentious. Some times shrewd and thieving. Tobacco users , gamblers .
Calc carb
After excessive mental labours which have weakened the intellect and inspire a fear of losing their mind . Devoid of will power and unable to refuse a glass of alcohol.
Hepar sulph persons who are not affectionate always dissatisfied, high temperd, easily angered even to homicide, inclined to be criminal. Needing alcohol to be able to work mentally.
ARS alb.
Wicked , vindictive, merciless, sometimes jealous, inclined to commit crimes. Inclined to suicide, by stabbing, poisoning or hanging. Persons who are always thirty and takes any kind of drink , even water. Inclined to vomiting, and more still to diarrhoea, much inclined to perscute others.
Petroleum
Drunkards without energy without strength of will, unable to refuse a glass of wine, vomiting after the least excess in drink, talking much when they are drunk .
Opium
Especially brandy drinkers getting drunk over humiliations, inclined to weep easily. Very gay or stupid, or sleepy while drunk . This remedy suits in the first case those who get drunk on wine , in the latter those who get drunk on cider , beer ethylic or amylic alcohol.
Mercurius vivus
Always dissatisfied with every thing, every body , and themselves. Incline to caries of the teeth , to engorgement of the gums , to salivation, neuralgia, diarrhoea, dysentery, intenstinal worms . Great Gamblers.sometimes spending freely and sometimes closed fisted Spending day by day what they earn . Hard to get along with and weak minded . Having diseases which have been pallaited rather than cured.
Staphysagaria
Suits drunkard who have made an abuse of venereal pleasures.Being unnerved, they imagine they can restore their poor organism by the abuse of alcoholic liquors , rather by means mild than than strong liquors. Sad before during and after drunkenness. Hypochondriac. Inclined to persecute . Bachelors and more still licentious husband's. Onanism , jealous, tobacco users .
Conium Mac
People who drink to brace up because they feel extremely lonesome cold and chilly. Persons who cannot stand continence. Great indifference . Intelligent not as yet throughly developed. Adults lacking in reason , like chicken. Paralytic weakness of lower spine, and especially of the lower legs Inclined to paraplegia.
Pulsatilla.
People who imagine they strengthen their stomachs by drinking and whose digestive powers are really insufficient. Sad while they are drunk . Desire for cider . Chlorotic women and girls who drink for the purpose of gaining strength. Jealous and still more envious inclined to hate . Spendthrifts through ostentation.Timid and even cowardly.
Mag carb .
Suits drinkers of mild liquors, those who make very frequent use of dainnties and candies . Shrewd sad taciturn or loquacious. Face livid or scarlet . Sleeplessness during the night, Sleep during the day . Speaking ceaselessly while drunk.
All are principal remedies which administered in high potencies 200 and above one single dose for about three or four weeks partially or completely destroys of the inclination to get drunk and often prevents the manifestations of divers symptoms which are cured during drunkenness.

Utrine fibroids

Fibroids are bengin, or non cancerous tumours that grow within or outside the wall of the uterus, or the Womb. Fibroids are common in women in the child bearing age group.
Causes
Hereditary is one of the commonest cause . The genesis is the female hormones, oestrogen and progesterone, that manipulate the development of fibroids.
It is also surmised that this is one major reason why , fibroids shrink after menopause, as the body stops manufacturing these hormones.
Utrine fibroids are commonly seen in overweight, dark skinned women. Besides they are common in women, who have difficulty in conciveing.
Symptoms
Heavy menstrul bleeding and heaviness in the pelvic region or pain during sex . there may be Inc urine output with constipation. This may be accompanied by pain in legs and back . Utrine fibroids may also be associated with infertility or miscarriages.

Tinnitus

Tinnitus is ringing, swishing, or any other type of noise that originates in the ear or head. In most instances tinnitus may not be serious problem. It is an annoyance at best that slowly resolves. However in certain instances, it may be a symptom of an underlying problem.
About 33 percent of the world population suffers from tinnitus. In almost all cases the problem is subjective only the individual hears the clatter.
Tinnitus can affect the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. Sometimes the noise in the ear may be a normal phenomenon.When the person go into a soundproof area or office where the normal outside noise is reduced person may become more receptive to normal sounds.
Tinnitus may sometimes due to a problem in the brain or wax or foreign body in the external ear that may obliterate background sounds. When this happens one becomes more aware of the sounds in their own head.
Other causes include fluid retention in the ear or infections or disease of the middle ear bones and the ear drum. Some medications like aspirin or disorders of the inner ear ( Meniere's disease) can cause tinnitus.Likewise any damage to the nerves in the inner ear, or old age, may trigger tinnitus.
Symptoms and Diagnosis
Sounds or noises in the ear could be constant irregular or pulsating or synchronous with heartbeat or may be hearing loss of balance with vertigo.
Dr will look into your medical history and conduct a series of tests to find out the cause Dr may also order a hearing test ( audiogram)
Other tests such as auditory brain stem response ( ABR) a computerised test of the hearing nerves and brain pathways computerised tomography scan (CT scan) or magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI scan) or magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI scan) may be ordered to rule out a tumor.
Tumors are uncommon but tests may sometimes be necessary in the presence of unexplained tinnitus.

Night Terrors

Night terrors are Sudden, dramatic interruptions during a child's sleep. During a night terror a child looks frightened and may screams or thrash violently. His pupils may be wide, breathing and heartbeat may be very rapid. Often a child with night terrors does not respond when his parents try to offer comfort. After about 5to 10 minutes the episode usually ends and the child may not remember anything at all about this incident.
About 1 to 5 percent children suffer from night terrors especially boys between the age of 5to 7 years.Sometimes these terrors run in families and are occasionally triggered by a fever. Although a few children with night terrors have emotional problems most do not and their terrors stop by the time they are teenagers. About one third also have problems with sleep walking.
No one knows why but most night terrors happen between midnight and 2 am . Suddenly your sleeping child will scream or cry, move violently and look very scared. He will seem confused and disoriented and may even complaint of seeing things that are not there. Breathing is very rapid and his heart will pound but no matter how hard you try to console, he probably won't respond. Soon he will fall asleep again without ever remembering the episode.
Although frightened child may seem to be totally alert, he is really more asleep than awake. Turn on.lights in the room and talk to him calmly. Touch him gently and try to pacify him. If he is thrashing violently, move him away from sharp objects and bed corners. If he is sleep walking guide him back to bed but don't try to wake him up. For the sake of safety, if child has night terrors and sleeps in a bunk bed, move him to the bottom bunk. To prevent midnight accidents clear away the toys from the floor near your child's bed and put appropriate coverings

Hyoscymus
Here the severity of violence ( like Stramonium) is not present instead the Child keeps picking on his bedclothes, plays with hands and reaches out for things that do not exist.
This medicine is useful in children who get convulsions especially from fright. They have a tendency to talk, cry out while still asleep. This child Wil fear being alone. There is involuntary urination at night and from hearing running water sounds.

Gelsemium
Gels is excellent remedy when the child goes to bed with fear. Fear could be due to anything, it could be of darkness, going to school next morning, sleeping alone, fear of exams etc , . Due to this fear the child may pass urine or stool in bed or may wake up with fever, . Constitutionally also they are very nervous, fearful children. They wake up frightened and trembling.
Gelsemium 30 five pills at bed time will help this child tremendously.
Chamomilla.
Anxious dreams sees horrible apparitions and shouts in his sleep, dreams about fatal accidents . Wakes up as if he had awful dreams. Child whines, cries and shutters about everything. Constitutionally they are very irriatable, aggressive, impatient, peevish children who want to be carried all the time for comfort. Chamomilla 30 five pills at bed time will help the Child.

Testicular Torsion

Testicular torsion is a rare but profound medical emergency, and this condition while ralativly rare does occur in male atheletes most often in adolescents boys.
The testicles ( or tests) develop in the abdominal cavity and shortly before birth pass downward through the inguinal canal to rest the loose sack of skin called the scrotum. The testicles are oval shaped structures encased in a tough, fibrous that contains the fine tubes in which the sperm are formed.Nature in her infinite wisdom has made one testicle usually the left to hang lower than its neighbour, so that the two organs slide laterally whenever the man walks, runs or sits thereby avoiding a painful collision. On the outer upper side of each testicle is a tightly coiled tube, the epididymis that stores maturing sperm for a period of ten days.The epididymis is sometimes subject to inflammation.from the epididymis runs the vas deferens the main spermatic channel that runs up into the abdomen.
In testicular torsion the testis twists on its chord.either spontaneously ( without apparent cause) or through strenuous physical activity. This is one of the reasons all male atheletes should wear an athelitic supporter. However it's not at all uncommon for young and adolescent atheletes to forgeo the jock strap in gym class and organized sporting activities and almost certainly in playground activities.
The immediate symptoms of testicular torsion are severe local pain without apparent cause ( as a blow to the groin) nausea and vomiting secondry symptoms will appear later swelling of the scrotum and fever.Most medical authorities recommend immediate surgical repair as the only course of treatment. If the correction does not occur within a few hours, the damage to the testicle is irreparable and the testicle must be removed.
Testicular cancer
Every male young or old should be aware of the possibility of testicular cancer. He should be as knowledgeable in self examination of his testicles as are women today about the self examination of their breasts.

Both testicles should be near identical images of one another as should the connecting structures. Parents of boys should instruct their son's in this self examination procedure. There is nothing wrong or evil or unclean about this self examination. Early detection is the key to survival and any I am going to wait and see attitude might be fatal.
