Today with the advances in medical technology and better understanding of gynaecological factors, childbirth, is certainly not as worrying and difficult as it once used to be.Even so there are times, specially in cases of late pregnancies, pregnancies after age 30 which, in these days of career counscous women are getting to be not uncommon when mothers and their gynecologists go through worrying times before and during childbirth,. First pregnancancies after age of 30/32 can be risky for both mother and the child, the main fear being prolonged and difficult labour.

Caullophylim one of these medicines is Caullophylim, it has the effect of regulating the process of labour and has been used by Homoeopaths with great success.
I had an elderly patient who was pregnant for the first time. She was warned by her physician of the dangers of a late pregnancy and the possible need for a Caesarean operation. I started giving her Caullophylim 30 c potency thrice a day, from the 7 th month of pregnancy. And the 9 th month I changed it to 200 c potency three times daily. I also advised her to take it half hourly when she developed labour pains. During her confinement the attending obstetrician, a well known in the city, said that everything was going well. but that she anticipated a long and difficult labour. The obstetrician left to go home because, as she said there was still plenty of time. To her utter surprise, she was summoned to the hospital the moment she reached home. She got to the hospital just in time to see a normal, healthy child delivered with absolutely no trouble.
The mother was saved a lot of pain, forceps, Caesarean section and hours of labour together with the possible danger to the child.

If there is of prolonged and complicated labour from the previous deliveries, or there is any illness or physical problems, then it should be treated only by experienced Homoeopath .
Viburnum opulus This is a specific medicine for false labour pains. It is useful when a pregnant woman complaints of cramping the abdomen and legs. It prevents threatened premature labour or miscarriage and spasmodic uterine pains. It should be taken under doctor's guidance.

The patient suffers from irregular pains, a pain comes on , seems to be proceeding satisfactorily, when all at once she screams out and grasps her hip. The Pain leave the uterus and goes to the hip, causing cramps.

Arnica Montana And finally, after the labour is completed, never forget this remedy. During labour the body goes through intense physical trauma specially the muscles of the uterus. If the patient is imminent given Arnica 200 , five pills every two hours a few days after labour, then the Pain and stiffness of muscles and post labour complications can be minimised.
Hypericum Nowadays to facilitate normal delivery and to prevent muscles tear an incision is made at the outer wall of the vagina . This process is called episiotomy. Episiotomy widens the vaginal passage for the baby. After the delivery this incised area is stitched to normalise the passage. And these stitches can be quite painful. Hypericum 200 c potency 5 pills five six times a day in alternate with Arnica,200 will greatly relieve the pain and cure the stitches.
Local application
Calendula mother tincis the most effective antiseptic which, when applied locally, will make the area aseptic and promote healthy granulation tissue to heal fast.
The calendula mother tincture should be mixed in the proportion of one part to ten parts of distilled water before applying.
Kali phos From the time a woman becomes pregnant she goes through emotional changes and some degree of mental anxiety. During labour or at the end of labour or the end of labour, it is very important to relax her mentally. Kali phos 6 x , five pills three times daily acts as good as nerve tonic.

Pregnancy problems

Pregnancy should be regarded as the most natrual process rather than as a confining illness. Heart burn
Heart burn during the first trimester is usually due to anxiety and tension. Morning sickness
Morning sickness charcterised by nausea and vomiting is one of the most common complaints of mothers to be, while friends and relatives may try to convince the expectant mother that the sick feelings is all inher mind, there is good evidence that there is also a physical cause. The level of gastric acid in a pregnant woman's stomach declines during the first three months of pregnancy. Also stomach activity during that period is at a low ebb and digestion is one or two hours slower after a meal than it was before pregnancy.
In most cases of morning sickness the mother is unable to hold down her breakfast. The feeling of nausea usually subsides by lunch time and does not appear again until the following morning. For the majority of women the feeling disappears entirely by the 12 th week. Greasy food are to be avoided.

Backache and other disorders
The most common complaint associated with pregnancy is backache. Backache in pregnant women is usually caused by changes in posture and only rarely by abnormally of organs within the Pelvis. Testicular Torsion

Testicular torsion is a rare but profound medical emergency, and this condition while ralativly rare does occur in male atheletes most often in adolescents boys​.
The testicles ( or tests) develop in the abdominal cavity and shortly before birth pass downward through the inguinal canal to rest the loose sack of skin called the scrotum. The testicles are oval shaped structures encased in a tough, fibrous that contains the fine tubes in which the sperm are formed.Nature in her infinite wisdom has made one testicle usually the left to hang lower than its neighbour, so that the two organs slide laterally whenever the man walks, runs or sits thereby avoiding a painful collision. On the outer upper side of each testicle is a tightly coiled tube, the epididymis that stores maturing sperm for a period of ten days.The epididymis is sometimes subject to inflammation.from the epididymis runs the vas deferens the main spermatic channel that runs up into the abdomen.
In testicular torsion the testis twists on its chord.either spontaneously ( without apparent cause) or through strenuous physical activity. This is one of the reasons all male atheletes should wear an athelitic supporter. However it's not at all uncommon for young and adolescent atheletes to forgeo the jock strap in gym class and organized sporting activities and almost certainly in playground activities.
The immediate symptoms of testicular torsion are severe local pain without apparent cause ( as a blow to the groin) nausea and vomiting secondry symptoms will appear later swelling of the scrotum and fever.Most medical authorities recommend immediate surgical repair as the only course of treatment. If the correction does not occur within a few hours, the damage to the testicle is irreparable and the testicle must be removed.
Testicular cancer

Homoeopathy during pregnancy

Although, the majority of pregnancies run a smooth course most women expect to feel different, as also look different, during the period of gestation ( the time the baby spends in the uterus.)
The human baby requires a gestation period of about nine months, the opossum's baby a mere eleven days and the elephant's nearly two years. In humans this period varies, probably influenced by the mother's menstrual cycle. Most drs agree that a baby will never live it is born on the 196th day after the last menstrual period. On the other hand, pregnancies lasting beyond the 300th day are rare. The average pregnancy lasts 260 days.
Care unborn child

Night Terrors

Night terrors are Sudden, dramatic interruptions during a child's sleep. During a night terror a child looks frightened and may screams or thrash violently. His pupils may be wide, breathing and heartbeat may be very rapid. Often a child with night terrors does not respond when his parents try to offer comfort. After about 5to 10 minutes the episode usually ends and the child may not remember anything at all about this incident.
About 1 to 5 percent children suffer from night terrors especially boys between the age of 5to 7 years.Sometimes these terrors run in families and are occasionally triggered by a fever. Although a few children with night terrors have emotional problems most do not and their terrors stop by the time they are teenagers. About one third also have problems with sleep walking.
No one knows why but most night terrors happen between midnight and 2 am . Suddenly your sleeping child will scream or cry, move violently and look very scared. He will seem confused and disoriented and may even complaint of seeing things that are not there. Breathing is very rapid and his heart will pound but no matter how hard you try to console, he probably won't respond. Soon he will fall asleep again without ever remembering the episode.
Although frightened child may seem to be totally alert, he is really more asleep than awake. Turn on.lights in the room and talk to him calmly. Touch him gently and try to pacify him. If he is thrashing violently, move him away from sharp objects and bed corners. If he is sleep walking guide him back to bed but don't try to wake him up. For the sake of safety, if child has night terrors and sleeps in a bunk bed, move him to the bottom bunk. To prevent midnight accidents clear away the toys from the floor near your child's bed and put appropriate coverings

Gels is excellent remedy when the child goes to bed with fear. Fear could be due to anything, it could be of darkness, going to school next morning, sleeping alone, fear of exams etc , . Due to this fear the child may pass urine or stool in bed or may wake up with fever, . Constitutionally also they are very nervous, fearful children. They wake up frightened and trembling.

Chamomilla.
Anxious dreams sees horrible apparitions and shouts in his sleep, dreams about fatal accidents . Wakes up as if he had awful dreams. Child whines, cries and shutters about everything. Tinnitus

Tinnitus is ringing, swishing, or any other type of noise that originates in the ear or head. In most instances tinnitus may not be serious problem. It is an annoyance at best that slowly resolves. However in certain instances, it may be a symptom of an underlying problem.
About 33 percent of the world population suffers from tinnitus. In almost all cases the problem is subjective only the individual hears the clatter.
Tinnitus can affect the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. Sometimes the noise in the ear may be a normal phenomenon.When the person go into a soundproof area or office where the normal outside noise is reduced person may become more receptive to normal sounds.
